I know some on here do not like bleacherreport.com for various reasons, and i agree  but i still find their stories interesting, such as their prediction that the celtics go 10-5 in april. losing to the Heat twice, sixers, pacers, and knicks but beating the Heat(once), bulls, bucks, spurs, Atlanta(twice),Magic, Bobcats, Nets, Raptors.

The Celtics are 13-5 since the All-Star break, and in that time KG has been playing like a top 5 center.  Despite the health issues facing the team, they've been looking like they're getting close to returning to their elite form.

I absolutely believe that 10-5 is a possibility.  In fact, I think they could do even better than that and put the rest of the league on notice that they should not be overlooked for the playoffs.

  • Rondo doesn't believe in easy buckets...
The way they've been playing sure.

I don't think that's necessarily a good thing in the grand scheme of things, but whatever.

It's well known that the Bleacher Report is trash.  However, I agree that we have a chance of going 10-5 in April.  It's all about the amount of rest we have in between games.  Honestly, the Spurs/Bulls back to back is going to be brutal.  Especially with traveling to Chicago the next day after the Spurs.  I'd chalk that up as a probable loss.

I'm interested in the 3 games in 3 nights.  They're all inferior opponents (TOR, NJN, CHA) but I'm afraid we'll drop one contest due to tired legs.  Hopefully we'll get a blow out win in either one of the first two games so we can get the starters to rest.

We'd have to play some great ball to go 10-5 but I think we can do it.  Put on your green tinted glasses baby!

I would like to go 12 and 3 beating Miami and the Bulls in the process and let the rest of the NBA know that we will not go quietly in the Springtime Night.
The beatings will continue until morale improves

our schedule had been soft.  April's schedule is brutal.  Miami three times, Atlanta twice, Chicago, Philly, Indiana, San Antoino, Orlando the Knicks... that's 11 games right that would could easily lose.  We have 3 soft games against the Raptors, Bobcats and Nets, but they happen to be back-to-back-to-back games... 5 games in 6 nights... 7 games in 9 nights.  Just a brutal schedule all around.  Could easily see us dropping at least 9 of the next 15.  The last game of the season is against the bucks... a team that stands a long-shot chance of pushing us out of the playoffs.  They are 5 games behind us but 9 of their next 15 games are against lotto teams.  I don't think it will happen, but it's entirely possible.

Call me delusional, but I still see the Celtics as also-rans.  We're 0-9 this year against contenders (0-6 if you could games where one of the big 4 sat out).  We aren't a very good team.  We are alright, though... so I think the best we can hope for is 8 wins during this final stretch.

When our schedule came out, I winced at April. We really needed the push in March because April will be brutal. If we are fighting for a playoff spot until the end and have to run our main guys full throttle throughout April, I worry about their playoff conditioning.

yup... not good.  I like our chances of getting out of the 1st round a heck of a lot more if the playoffs start today.  Hobbling into the playoffs after a brutal 15 game finish isn't looking too promising.

People are probably going to look back on this and go, "Wow... hard to believe that as late as March 31st, the Celtics had control of the 4th seed...  what the heck happened?"  ...  Shouldn't be a surprise though.  Rough, rough schedule coming up.  Gonna take a lot of effort to stay in the playoff picture.

If the Bucks were to go 10 and 5 down the stretch, we would still have to go 4 and 11 or worse over the same stretch to miss the playoffs.

Despite the tough season ending schedule, I think we are looking good enough to finish this season winning at least 7 of our last 15, hopefully more.

I like our chances to make the playoffs.

So all the other teams around us in the playoff picture are playing well and have easy schedules going forward? If it's going to take a lot of effort to even stay in the playoff picture then the odds of making the playoffs must be pretty slim. Good luck with that prediction.

  • Anything is possible!
I think 10-5 is a little bit to optimistic, we got loads of games in a short time against good teams. The keys for april are in my opinion the first game against the Heat and then the games against the hawks. If we win those we could go 8-7 and avoid MIA/CHI in the first round of the playoffs.

Yeah, the Bucks haven't been lighting the world on fire, so we look pretty safe with the 5.5 game lead.

It'll be interesting to see how the Knicks do down the stretch with Lin out.  Baron Davis and JR Smith have the ability to produce in the backcourt, but they are incredibly inconsistent.
