I want Festus Ezeli or Andrew Nicholson with one pick, John Jenkins or Doron Lamb at one pick, and Fab Melo or Draymond Green with the other pick. I don't quite care what order we do that in.

If I had to order them based on stock, it'd go like this:

21) Ezeli/Lamb
25) Jenkins/Nicholson/Melo
Whatever round 2 pick we get) Green

I think that Ezeli and Jenkins would be ideal, but Lamb and Nicholson would also be pretty awesome. Melo would be more likely to be on the board at 25 in a worst case scenario, but I think if we get another second round pick, packaging them to move up slightly and get Green or even Melo if we got the better players in the first round would be spectacular.

I think Lamb or Jenkins would be perfect for this squad if Ray Allen decided to leave in free agency, as a shooter off the bench would mesh well with Bradley at the 2.

Arnett Moultrie would be my top choice no matter what, but I think it's a little optimistic to think we can take him/

Dion Waiters is the player I would love with one of our 1st rounders. We need perimeter players who can create and take it to the basket, especially with the second unit. And with Ray possibly leaving this offseason, the need becomes greater. Plus Waiters has the potential to be a plus defender with his length and quickness.

I really like Henson since Doc isn't going to play a rookie big anyway (I'm predicting Garnett returns for another season). So why not get a player to develop? He has the length and instincts and pick roll defense down pat. He just needs to put on weight.

Even if John Henson falls to us, I'm unsure how much sense it would make to draft him, instead of using the pick at other spots. I think Anthony Randolph is a very similar type player that should be available cheaply though free agency. What I find the most interesting is that Henson is only 1 year younger than Randolph.

I see Randolph as the perfect player to play with Rondo and in 31 career starts Randolph has averaged the following:

PPG 11.6
RPG 8.2
APG 1.1
SPG 1.0
BPG 1.4
FG% 47.8
FT% 79.0
MPG 25.11 (ONLY)

The only thing similar about Randolph and Henson are there body types. Henson is a 4/5 and Rondolph is a 3/4. Henson is a typical 4 on offense and Randolph tends to play more of a 3 on offense.

With that said I would love for the Cs to get Rondolph for cheap next year but i dont see that happening with our roster situation.

Randolph and Henson aren't very similar beyond their slender frames.  Even their body types aren't similar as Randolph is very proportional and Henson is about 60 percent legs.  Randolph has no identity as a player even this many years into his career besides erratic performances. Henson at the very least should be a very good rebounder and elite shotblocker.  He has skills to consistently be in a rotation and start.  After the way his offense improved, I don't think Henson slips out of the top ten despite concerns about his strength and his potential to get stronger.

Of some of the names who might be available in the 20s, I'm intrigued with Arnett Moultre.  As good an athlete as people think Perry Jones is, I think Moultre is better and they're about the exact same height and weight.  Moultrie isn't just quick and fast, he's incredibly smooth.  When he blitzes a screen, his quickness can be stunning.  I'm confused why he couldn't manage even 1 block a game with all his athleticism and size though.  Good free throw shooter and passer, not selfish at all.

    Royce White
    Doron Lamb
    CJ Leslie
    Marquis Teague

Second round:
    Darius Miller
    Renardo Sidney

I am getting less and less excited about the draft by the day.  Between the field thinning out, and the C's dropping lower in the draft (which I am not complaining about...but from an interest in the draft prospective, its not a plus), the pickings are getting much more slim.

I am really starting to think the best move might be to try to move up to take a "slider".  If a guy like Sullinger or Henson slides into the teens, then I think the C's should think really hard about trying to get them (BTW, I am not that high on Henson as a lottery pick, but in the teens, he is great value).

Agreed. However, I find myself fairly intrigued by the lottery this year. There are a number of teams in the high lottery mix that could conceivably become very good teams very quickly if they leapfrog the Bobcats. Detroit and Sacramento immediately come to mind with the potential front-court duos that would be formed.

to balance out the roster hope ainge goes one forward/center and one guard in the first, and a euro player in the 2nd. Could go one euro center/forward and one euro guard in the 2nd if we have the bucks pick.

I disagree to an extent. While it might be nice to draft a guy with better potential and stash him away for a few years to keep a roster spot open, I think it might be better for our cap situation to try and get a role player in the second rounds and hope for the best. Save the higher veteran salaries for better players.

It wouldn't surprise me one bit to see the first round picks both be bigs. Whether they fall to us or whether Danny does draft day deals giving up this years 2nd rounder and a first to move up a couple spots I see the C's ending up with

John Henson

Myers Leonard

As I said, I think one of these guys are going to fall, especially once we get the entire list of players declaring for the draft. The other, Danny might need to move up a bit to get, maybe a few spots higher for their pick and the 2nd rounder, but if Danny can get these to bigs out of this draft, it would be a coup, IMHO.

Ezeli and Nicholson would be fine with me where we are.

I think Nicholson projects as a poor man's Big Al, and Ezeli projects as a more graceful Perk.

Both are very new to the game, international, hard working, and dripping with potential, even though they are seniors.

If Harkless dropped to us, I would snatch him and take best available big later on.

you can get role players for the vet min, especially with the new cap rules coming in and assuming you have kg/pp/ray, you can get some cheap vets, as they have now who be at the level of the 2nd rounders that will be available. Besides next year we should have the same core pierce, bass, kg, rondo, bradley, pietrus, steamer and allen plus jeff green. That's nine players, add 2 first rounders plus jujuan and moore, that's plenty (13 players in total already), rather give jujuan and moore more minutes than adding a 2nd rounder to compete with them.

I was looking at draft express and there young players who could be available that are playing first divison basketball in tougher leagues than the ncaa, the spanish, russian and turkish first division. They are playing significant minutes with powerhouses. The stats from the guards don't look overly impressive but u have to remember what jennings did at roma, jack all.

rather get one of them stash them away and concentrate on developing the 4 players who be rookie or sophomores already on the roster.

Two Vanderbilt players

Jeffrey Taylor (SF) and Festus Ezeli (C)

NBA ready physique wise. The two players are very experienced with room to grow. Ezeli projects really well in the NBA defensively.

with the firsts, I would take Fab Melo and the best perimeter player available at either choice.  Mainly bc I believe Melo wont be taken by a team until after 20th pick or so.

With the 2nd rounder, its really about who is available at your draft slot.  I would love CJ Leslie, but I doubt he will be in the 2nd round after draft camps.

As for John Henson.  Let me preface this by saying yes, i am a UNC Alum and I am getting help for my addiction, but John Henson is a steal if the Celtics can get him.

The kid is a young version of KG.  He has the same attitude, defensive abilities and rebounding as KG, but lacks offensive polish.  However he has made huge jumps offensively at UNC, year to year.

Henson wont be there at 20, so we can stop with that fantasy right now.  If John Henson is available at the 20th pick 1) Roy Williams should be fired for telling him to leave UNC, 2) many GMs will be fired next season for passing on a 7'0", 7'6" wingspan athletic kid who can make 15 foot jumpshots, and 3) Danny Ainge will personally drive to Chapel Hill, kiss Ole Roy for giving bad advice, pack up Henson's things and drive him back to Boston, just on the off chance the pick was some crazy practical joke.

I would believe Ainge and the Celtics would be giddy to get Henson.
