Toronto has agreed to waive Rasual Butler, allowing him join a team for the playoffs, agent Andy Miller tells Y! Sports.

A couple years ago, this might have meant something. I have no idea what Butler can contribute to a playoff team, as he's been toiling in obscurity for the last two years (Clippers, Raptors).

I don't even know if he constitutes an upgrade from Marquis or Sasha. Maybe someone else can comment.

I would say he is an upgrade over Marquis, just for the simple fact that Pietrus is an upgrade over Marquis, and Rausal Butlers game is very much like Pietrus' game is now. Butlers mid-range game is better than Pietrus' IMO but not sure he'll have the same impact on both ends like Pietrus does. But if I were Danny I would seriously considering dropping Quis and picking up Butler.

Here is the latest video mix I've found of Butler:

  • You ain't the boss of the freakin' bedclothes.
Butler has been getting steadily worse for years now. No interest, surprised he's still in the league.

This season, Keyon Dooling is shooting 28.8% from three and 37.6% overall for an eFG% of 45.0%.  For Butler this season, those numbers are 27.3%, 30.8%, and 38.7%.

I don't know what happened to Pietrus, as I was not home, but given what I am hearing on the radio, it does not sound like he will be back. Sign Butler now!

Yeah, we're a Rasual Butler signing away from winning a championship.  I left the ESPN board because of this insanity, but it's the same crap over here.  Is there a little nook on this website where there are people living in reality?  Can somebody please point me in that direction. We should be talking about what we're going to do with Pierce over the next two years. It's not fair to him to make him suffer on a rebuilding team.  We should also be talking about the the morons running this team who signed him to that extension in the first place.  Also, how is Rondo going to react playing on a rebuilding team?  He's obviously going to throw a fit until he's traded.  But noooo, back to Rasual Buler and whatever other garbage castoffs are available to lead us into the promised land.

Apologies to OP, his post was innocent enough.  I'm just tired of everyone fooling themselves. The only fooling I want is the medical staff "fooling" PP, Ray and KG into thinking they're injured. Tanking sucks, but it seem to be the best option right now.

I don't think anyone believes Rasual Butler will lead us to Banner 18  ::)

If we plan to play out the rest of the season, we need bodies. Simple as that.

Who signed Paul Pierce to an extension? Our team captain and franchise player? He shouldn't have to suffer through rebuilding? The man who wants to retire a Celtic? How will Rondo react to playing on a rebuilding team? He's gonna throw a fit until he's traded? Really? I'll just assume you were being sarcastic.

Rebuilding will be addressed in the off season. There is absolutely nothing that can be done about it right now. Right now, the focus is on the rest of the regular season and the post season.

Yeah, I went a little nuts and apologized to OP in my edit.  But give me a break on the Rondo thing.  I can see you're obviously a big fan of his, but do you not read the articles, listen to the commentators or analysts?  The guy doesn't have a good attitude, and that's when we're winning!!  Google "Rondo Tubby Smith" if you don't believe me. I really don't think he'll have to demand a trade.  I think he's gone this off season.  It's cool, you can always be GrandTheftBradley.  :)

LOL I'm not a big fan of Rondo. I'm a big fan of the play that the name came from...Rondo diving for the loose ball against Orlando in Game 3 of the ECF in 2010. At the end of the day I'm simply a Celtics fan. TP for GrandTheftBradley though. Funny stuff!

I know he doesn't have the best attitude but I just can't see him demanding a trade. I could be wrong though. It will be a very interesting off season to say the least.

Yes it was a great play and thanks for the TP.  I was stuck on 6 forever and I'm pretty sure I'll be stuck with 7 for some time too.  And YES, it will be a very interesting offseason.
