I'd take this kid in the high teens to low twenties in a heartbeat, and I'd be thrilled about it. After the first five picks or so, you're not going to get a surefire star with no bust potential. It doesn't work that way.
We're at a time where we need to take some chances. Sure-thing roleplayers don't help us. Swing for the fences. Go for a Perry Jones III, or a Tony Wroten - guys who have warts now but possess the overall tools to be elite players. I'd toss Austin Rivers in that category too. At best, we accelerate the rebuilding process by acquiring great talent relatively late in the draft. At worst, they bust and we wait another year. I guess you run the risk of losing a ticked-off Rondo to a trade demand, but in all honesty if he takes that route then he's probably a bad piece for a rebuilding team anyway.
Also, I don't think this guy's interview is so incriminating. I don't want players to just keep chucking if they're off. Ideally, he'd attack the basket (which is well within his ability) and draw fouls. I can live with 4-14 if he goes 8-10 from the line in the same game.
I just think this mentality can be coached out of him.
EDIT: Quincy Miller is another guy I'd take in a heartbeat.
