Danny's scraping the bottom of the barrel here.  I think the odds of finding someone you can plug into the rotation at this point are slim and none.  It's too bad because I think this team is a rebounder away from making some noise in the playoffs.

Every year we're a rebounder away from advancing.

And yet every year we fail to rebound.

If Wilcox hadn't gone down I'd have given the Celtics a fighting chance to pull one upset.  Not any more.

Well he isn't Patrick O'Bryant. Let's just take a moment to appreciate that. He's not Patrick O'Bryant... or Mikki Moore. :-\

Ainge continues his fetish for bigs that don't rebound

I don't think we had much of a choice.
Diaw, in his worst season (and that would be the current season), is five times the player Hollins was in his best. But I guess he just wasn't coming here. Blame Tony Parker.

Maybe he's talking Jeff Foote as the bigger player.  We had interest earlier in March but he was picked up by NO on a 10 day contract. I believe they let it expire.  He's 7' 265 pounds...

Foote could be on Celtics radar

He may be worse than both of those guys -- seriously.

Hollins is trash. There are two bigs in the system already I would rather see get the minutes.

Powe is hurt, Posey is done, wouldn't mind House but I rather keep developing Bradley

Ok. It works. A body. Now get another and I bet they just help ease the load on KG who will remain at the five. DA is looking for cheap young depth and as some have said it's slim pickins right now. Fesenko would satisfy my concerns with the bigs.

Read that last line again. One more time.

Will Hollins on the roster decrease the number of minutes Doc will give to a smallball lineup?  If so, do you prefer the smallball lineup with Pietrus as the nominal power forward?

Is there anyone who answers in the affirmative to both questions?

A big practice body at best. But a net negative if he takes minutes from Stiemsma or Johnson, rookies who at least have upside.

to be honest, while a bigger name its not like Ronny Turiaf is that much better at rebounding/scoring.

But point remains that he is better at both, he's also the better defender, the wilier player, moves the ball fairly well for a center, and turns it over half as often.
