Jeff Foster retires - Will the Pacers be players for a buy-out big?

Jeff Foster's back problems have done him in.  I laugh at all the people who wanted to sign him as a free agent.  Despite their acquisition of Leandro Barbosa, they still have the cap space to outbid a team like the Celtics should they choose to pursue a replacement.

If you were a big man, would you rather sign for the minimum in Boston or for more than the minimum in Indiana?

It might also depend on where you think you have a better chance of earning a non-minimum contract for next season and which team you think is more likely to make it to the second round of the playoffs.

agreed, Foster was definitely a lunchpail kind of player.  brought it every night.  not common enough in today's NBA

I'm calling it now.  Pacers and C's will be playing against each other in the 1st round.
