I'm for it. However, in addition to Sheed I would also sign two out of the following, Fesenko, Hollins, and Evans (if he is bought out). I would cut either Dooling, Sasha, or Daniels (in that order), to go along with the Sheed & Wilcox roster cuts in order to sign the 3 bigs. We have way too many guys on our team that play that can play the 2, and not enough that can play the 4/5. Plus, it makes the Sheed signing low risk. If he gets in shape, and plays well, great. If not, we still would have KG, Bass, Steim, Hollins, and Fesenko or Evans to man the interior. Not to mention that the depth upfront will also allow us to give KG a day off here and there.

  • It's all about the TEAM!
If they bring in Sheed, I am officially done with this team until next season.

Oh, well I guess everyone should stop thinking about it then.

If you want him here, then by all means.  Sorry that my opinion of him doesn't match yours.

Its good either way.

We have the Celtics as they are now. If they add a person, even if it was Spike Lee, I don't think I will be done with the team. It's just the Celtics as we know it +1.

So take that same Celtics team (with Sheed and -1) that's where we are now.

I'll keep watching either way.

Cheers ;)

It was the 09-10 finals

Quote
“He was a warrior,” Celtics coach Rivers said of Wallace after Game 7. “You know, I don’t know if Rasheed will ever play again. You know, he’s one of them that took that out on the floor with him. I think he is thinking about retiring, and I thought you could see that in his play. He was dying out there. When he got the cramps and strains, he was just trying to figure out a way out, a way of staying out on the floor.”

He was scoring when the Celtics were winning, but late he wore down, was getting cramps, and the Celtics could no longer go him inside. And as they had to shoot jumpers, the Lakers started to pull ahead.

Wallace tried to stand up and stop the tide, but he could not any more. His body was betraying him. It happens to the best.

No back injury it was cramps but this articles indicates he did quit in the fourth.  While it is true he battled a balky back all year.

At some point we have to quit raiding the nursing home thinking it will pan out.....

I'm all for Sheeeeeeeeed.  As long as he doesn't take 10 3s a game, he'd be very useful with his excellent post defense.. All we need is some big tall goof to clog up space for 15 minutes a game.. Sheed is a perfect/cheap fit.

Why are people so high on Reggie Evans, Turiaf and Diaw? I don't think Reggie Evans even learned how to play basketball yet.  Turiaf is too old and short to be effective down low against big 5's and Diaw is washed up.  He looks like a walking McDonald's commercial.

I'm glad we got Hollins actually.. I think he runs the floor better than Wilcox and is longer and more athletic.  I expect him to be active on the offensive glass and he's got great energy and tenacity.  If KG and the Truth like him, then I'm all for it.  All we need now is Sheed or *Random Beefy Big Dude* and I think we can make a strong push.

Evans has one skill: rebounding.  He hustles but pretty much doesn't do anything else, but he is so good at his one skill that he transforms the Clippers from a horrible rebounding team to an average one in his 15mpg off the bench.  He's appealing to people who want to over-compensate for the Celtics' rebounding deficiencies.  People like Turiaf and Diaw over Hollins because of rebounding.  Despite being shorter, Turiaf and Diaw are probably more effective on defense against strong, bulky centers.

That makes sense.  Personally, I'd rather have Hollins plus a Fesenko type, rather than any combination of Evans, Turiaf, and Diaw.  I just really dislike Evans.  He should've played football instead.  Turiaf and Diaw can't rebound against bigger players.  I understand Hollins only averages a shade under 3 rebounds a game, but atleast he's athletic and can disrupt things a little in the paint.  Hollins, plus a big bulky center would be best IMO.

The way I see it...

The reason why the Celtics went out and signed Sheed was due to the urging of the Big Three. When Sheed mentioned that he wanted to play again...where was Allen, KG and Pierce? I think someone wore out his welcome.
