His stats are not encouraging. Below the league average in every single statistical category. Although it IS a small sample size, and he is young enough to have some upside.

I see why the Celtics are interested. Half of his highlights are against them

Based on who seems to be available, I would put Fesenko as my number one choice right now.  After him, I'll go with Turiaf, then Hollins, then 'Sheed, with Reggie Evans rounding out the list.

Are there any other bigs on the radar?  Oh yeah, I forgot about Diaw.  I guess I'll stick him between 'Sheed and Evans.

It looks like he is big on-paints-warrior almost without jump shot, with very bad free shot statistics (even Rondo's one is comparatively brilliant :) )

He would always give LA bigs problems, I thought we should have got him since a while back. How did he fall out of the NBA was his role diminished from injury or something or just not playing very good?

Fesenko is likely no world-beater-in-waiting, and his numbers are bad, BUT he's never averaged more than 8 minutes a game, and virtually no one is any good in such a short time. Though I think Aaron Gray is better, Fesenko is basically like Gray in that he's huge (7-1, 280), and I think Boston would benefit from having that type of size clogging the middle. Plus, he seems decent at finishing around the rim. Maybe he'd blossom into a decent backup if given 12-15 min. a game. I say go for him.

Honestly what does this guy bring that Steams doesn't? Thats my thing. Granted we need size but if we could grab Diaw and Turiaf we would be fine in IMO you would have

Bass/Diaw/Turiaf/Johnson
KG/Turiaf/Steamer/Diaw

Thats not that bad. I mean we could get out a run with some teams with those guys.

He's bigger and beefier shouldn't easily get thrown around, more experience, probably better rebounder and defender

Looks like Kobe drew the foul on the play though.

It's not that he necessarily brings much more than Steamer, it's more that he brings more of it.  We are so thin up front that we desperately need some insurance.  I'm thinking Fesenko and Turiaf would be a decent get in the free agent market.  We'll basically add one extra center and one extra power forward (with Turiaf able to fill in at both spots).

I think Stiemsma would have a good shot of keeping his spot in the rotation ahead of Fesenko, but the competition wouldn't hurt.  If Fesenko moves Greg down a spot in the rotation, that's okay with me.  At least we know he can be relied upon if needed.

What I like about Fesenko is that he plays defense, he brings attitude, and doesn't replicate any of the players we already have. Young and big don't hurt, but I like him

I think Stiemsma is a bit overrated at the moment. Great energy, but only one above average skill that I can see (shot blocking). He's a pretty average rebounder for a big guy (about the same rate as JO), his jumper "looks" ok but the guy is shooting 42% and not scoring many points. He has no post defense and lousy help defense as well, outside of going for shot blocks. In short, a situational guy who does some things badly, some ok, and one thing well.

What I think is really going to be tested here is how Doc can manage the big guys. Playing Stiemsma vs Fesenko (assuming we get him) at the right times, KG at the 5, even going small (Rondo / Allen / Pietrus / Pierce / Bass) could play a big part in our success (or demise).

At least Fesenko has upside... I like him WAYYY better than someone like Ryan Hollins who's ONLY skill is being 7 foot and athletic.
