What About Shaq?

Has anyone heard anything about Shaq coming out of retirement?  He should be in shape, as he and Barkley have a bet about who can lose the most weight by a certain date.  He looks pretty good right now.  Shaq owes the Celtics, imo.  Ainge traded Perk thinking Shaq would be available but he got hurt before the playoffs.  Like I said, Shaq owes the Celtics.

While I'd love to see Shaq make an NBA comeback, there's a huge difference between being in good shape in general, and being in NBA shape.  I just can't imagine that Shaq would be anywhere near game shape.

As for the above and Shaq owing the Celtics, Shaq says he was candid with Danny that there was no guarantee he'd be ready to play by the playoffs.  If Danny thought that Shaq would be available, that was his own wishful thinking.

Plus his achilles never came back right.  So not only does he not have time to get back in shape but I bet once he pushed it  he wold have problems with it.  Take it from someone who partially tore his achilles just a couple of years ago...

This would be my fantasy; however, it's unfortunately just that.  I truly believe that the best the Celtics have ever been during the Big Three Era was during the first 1/3-1/2 of last season when Shaq was in the middle. 

But not only is it highly unlikely Shaq comes out of retirement, even if he did, as others have said, the chances of him being able to make a difference are minimal.

My goodness we looked scary with a true big man playing well in the middle for us. If we could have flipped the beginning of last season for the end of last season, we'd already have banner #18.

We was scary good for just a brief time there.

Shaq is an ego maniac. That's why he's surely thought about coming back. The broadcast booth isn't going anywhere. 

If he was capable of coming back, there is no doubt he would. He flat out loved it here last year when he was healthy, playing with the Big 4 posse.

He'd do it in a heartbeat because he could be viewed as a savior, difference maker and all that good stuff. The good thing is that he won't come back because he can't make a difference. I really wish that weren't the case ...

As much as Id love to see it, it aint gonna happen. We have certainly seen the end of Shaqs NBA playing days.
