The Celtics are planning to have at least one new inside player on the roster by the end of the week, and as of yesterday they were closing in on available players while hoping one or more other names would join the pool.

According to league sources, the Celts will make a strong push for Ryan Hollins when it is presumed he will clear waivers after being cut loose by the Cleveland Cavaliers yesterday. There could also be interest in free agent Kyrylo Fesenko, and one general manager said he believes the C’s are waiting to see if Reggie Evans is set free from the Los Angeles Clippers.

It says Hollins in this JO article not sure about Fesenko but does say we're interested. I don't know how I feel about Hollins after reading tons of bad things about him lazy poor work ethic etc. it will most likely be him though something tells me KG will brush him off after one practice.

I'll take Hollins because I think Rondo would find him for alley oops constantly .

I would much rather sign Sheed than Fesenko

Aslo would love to add diaw

I'd be happy with Hollins and Diaw or Sheed

I'd have to agree. Any of those three and/or Turiaf. I'd only take sheed back if he had a clause in his contract that would prevent him from shooting 3's though.. Not really a fan of Fesenko.

Hollins  :-[
I guess its a low risk sort of thing, he's young & big, if he turns his attitude/career around its a no brainer.  If he acts like a jerk it is only for a partial season and he's gone.

I hope we wait to see if Diaw is bought out.
One of these guys+Diaw would be fine.
Diaw if in shape would be a better starter than Bass- he hits the jump shot and can post up/rebound.

There's no such thing as an IN SHAPE Boris Diaw.

In Phoenix he was in shape. He's lost all motivation in Charlotte. He got paid, on a crappy team with a coach that hates him that is a perennial lottery team.

Bring him to Boston with his French buddy Pietrus and watch him frop 15-20 pounds. If we could get Fesenko and Diaw I'd be happy and consider it a success.

Diaw has been fat now for 4 years, it's embarrassing when he shows up in the summers to represent his country sporting a big fat gut... i don't want a guy like that on The Celtics.

Especially since Boston just got rid of Jermaine O'Neal for the year.

Pretty much this.  If we could get Hollins, Diaw, and Fesnko or evans, this would really help and give us an increased chance.  jo wilcox, dooling all need dumped/

I hope we get Hollins.   If anything it's good practice fodder.

  • Eagerly Awaiting the Next Fantasy Draft
I think they sign Hollins when he cleats waivers then wait to see if anyone else is bought out before moving on Fesenko.

Can someone explain to me why the clippers would cut evans? Doesn't he play solid back up minutes for them? He would be a perfect fit here.
DKC:  Rockets

  • I'm a Paul Heyman guy.
I'd take Ryan Hollins. He's got athleticism and a legit 7'0'' to help along the rebounding problems.

Ive heard of his lack of work ethic, but I will lean towards the fact that he'll be stupid to blow this off, especially now that he could be an essential player, that he'll work his butt out once he comes in.

SF: Paul Pierce / Tayshaun Prince / Brian Scalabrine

I don't know why people wanna go near Hollins. There are D leaguers who will contribute more than him.
He's 7 feet and he averaged 2.5 rebounds in 15 mins per game.
Pathetic, give Chris Johnson another go if need be, at least he can catch the ball.
Here's what Cavs fans are saying about the release of Hollins....
They are stoked, excited and say it's the best thing to happen for them since drafting Irving.
This is the Cavs version of Celticsblog....

Agree that Diaw is a chronic fatso but i still think he could help us with his diverse skillset.
