Kevin Garnett too time out of his day to inexplicably harass the point guard of an opposing team, despite the playing being completely out of his peer group?

Never.

In fairness to KG, if Teague were on the Celtics right now, he'd be getting some of his minutes at PF.

Teague disrespects a future hall of famer.. Teague IS an absolute nobody at this point in his career.. Ray Allens teammate, also a future hall of famer, clearly supporting his teammate, makes it clear what the Celtics think of nobodies talking smack..

Where is the issue? I don't love the KG throwing cheap elbows or hitting guys in the balls, BUT I do love this KG. Do something. Win something. Prove yourself. Then you'll get KGs respect.

Larry Bird once hit a three in front of a defender and told him Merry Fing Christmas. Now KG and Larry that would be a combo.

What KG is saying basically, is that if you want respect in this league, you've got to earn it, and Teague is a loooooong way from that.

I'm not crazy about publicizing the Celtics' trash-talking, but I also can't blame Ticket for what he said, and I probably would've done similar.

Teague got his own when he shot that three-point airball and lost the game for his team ... it always comes back around.

  • We may as well put Tyrion in at center.

Throw in Charles Barkley, and we'd have the ultimate big 3.

Decades from now, Teague will just be another player. Ray Allen, KG, and Pierce will all be remembered.

KG is definitely outside the norm when it comes to chameraderie in the league. I would put Kobe in the same category. With me or against me...no in between.

It's a real difference between the mid 90's draftees and the younger generation of stars (Lebron, Wade, Dwight, etc.)

I actually prefer the respect that younger players have for their peers. I think KG calling out a starting point guard on a team that's ahead of his in a playoff race lacks class.

Reminds me of this story:
Quote
Garnett wasn't exactly welcoming to Pacers rookies A.J. Price and Tyler Hansbrough when he visited Indianapolis this summer to film a Wheaties commercial. As Garnett exited Conseco Fieldhouse, Indiana assistant coach Lester Conner asked him to walk over and meet Price and Hansbrough, who were working out. Garnett wasn't exactly friendly. According to Conner, Garnett continued to walk out and remarked, "[Expletive] your rookies."

This is the side of KG that I don't care for.

This is the side of KG that makes me love the NBA, makes me grateful he is a Celtic, makes me wish Danny had done a better job helping him, makes me wish I'd never criticized him for his imperfections
