Josh Smith and Rondo are supposedly good friends...but would Gordon come here?

And even IF we could get that starting lineup, I'd hope that we could still find a lowpost prospect in the draft. I really like a lineup of KG/Josh, but neither KG or Josh Smith excel in those areas.

Are those 2 the start of something great? Can we win a championship with those 3 as the core? How much money would we have to sign a equal or better peice after Smith & Gordon along with Rondo? And finally who would be our best player? Because those 3 are all bunched up together talent wise.

Sorry to burst any bubbles around here, but i think that Eric Gordon has his heart & mind set on going home, and playing for his hometown Pacers.   

I hope I'm wrong, but the writing seems to be on the wall with this one.

Eric Gordon seems to be about as likely to play a full season as Andrew Bogut, so I would be cautious about trying to sign him for any significant amount of money.  I'm pretty sure he's not in my top five of restricted free agents the Celtics should think of going after.

Josh Smith is not a free agent until the summer of 2013.

We are talking about Eric Gordon, right?  If so, I disagree.  Eric Gordon averaged 22 points per game last year and was the Clippers' best player, despite all the publicity that Blake got.  If he can stay healthy, he's a much better player than Mayo.  

Unfortunately, I don't really see how he ends up here.  I'd be pretty surprised if New Orleans lets him walk even despite their financial situation.  If they do, he's supposedly interested in going home to play for the Pacers.

I could see him wanting to do that, but if I'm the Pacers I'm not rolling the dice on him health-wise when they've already got Paul George and Danny Granger. Which is almost too bad, because I love the idea of pairing George and Gordon, and moving Granger for pieces.

I still dont believe a line up of rondon/gordon/pierce/smith/KG and allen as 6th man is enough to beat the Heat/Bulls and even possibly the Knicks if they can find the right coaching.

In 2-3 years a core of rondo/gordan/smith will be in the middle of playoff seeding with a small chance of even making it to the conference finals.

FULL REBUILD is what is needed.

Without lottery picks this team will be mediocre for the next 6 years.

Unless I find a genie who grants wishes against free will for DH12

Gordan/George/Hibbertt is a very strong young core. Larry has totally rebuilt that oganization.

Sad to say but I think that Danny Granger will be traded if Gordon is signed

New Orleans will match any offer for Gordon and Smith isn't even a free-agent.

I like EJ. Well rounded player. Not worth a max contract by any means, more of a second option. But fairly superior to OJ Mayo.

Way too risky, particularly for small market team. Gordon would be a clear upgrade for them but they can't afford the risk.

I think that any lineup that includes Gordon isn't going to happen.  He is a RFA (restricted Free Agent) and the Hornets have already said time and time again that they will match any offer.  He's not coming here.....
