Have we talked about this yet? I didn't see a thread. I heard Leon Powe is coming back to the NBA after playing for Puerto Rico. I don't know if the Celtics have contacted him but I don't think it's just a coincidence that we're waiving Marquis Daniels around the same time we hear about Powe coming back.
Here's one source, but tons of other sites have a little article on him: http://clnsradio.com/2012/nba-2/boston-celtics/could-leon-powe-be-returning-to-the-boston-celtics/

Can't we just bring Gerald Green back?

I hope so.
Once you are labeled 'the best' you want to stay up there, and you can't do it by loafing around.

would much rather have Diaw at this point, we need more play making for the second unit.

Diaw is a play maker; but not a rebounder. Powe used to be a pretty good rebounder for his  size. Likes those second chance opportunities as Max likes to say.

Powe's ORB%/DRB%/TRB% the past three seasons
08-09 (Boston) 15.1/18/9/17.1
09-10 (Cleveland) 10.1/20.2/15.4
10-11 (Cleveland-Memphis) 8.3/14.2/11.2

I don't think thats even a discussion.  I love Powe, but Diaw is the far superior player, even 30 pounds overweight.

To be honest though, if no other centers shake free, I would take both of them.

I know Diaw is relevant in the big man conversation but I wish every mention of another guy didn't turn into a conversation about comparing the two.

The guy at Sportando, who believes Powe is injured/out of shape, believes "NBA opportunity" was an excuse fabricated by Powe to allow him to leave the team.

Guess we'll have to wait and see what happens.

I agree, but hopefully another center that shakes free is Kaman.

Here's my fantasy: Kaman and Diaw. We'd almost be contenders then.
