Tanguay said the celts are tired of jo's act...they feel he could play but isnt

I don't think Tanguay is credible.  It doesn't mean this isn't true, but he likes to appear informed when he really isn't.

I hope to god that Marquis is released, the guy just can't play anymore. IMO he shouldn't have been resigned last season, never mind this season.

Not sure I see the point in releasing Quisy.  If we need a roster spot, shouldn't Wilcox be the frst to go?  Not to be heartless, but he is the only one that (at the moment), is definitely done for the year.  Qusiy could possibly (remote) be needed at some point.  Who know with JO.  There's something wierd going on with his situation, it just doesn't add up.  If we do need an additional roster spot (after waiving Wilcox), we could just release JO on the 24th.  That way he isn't eligible to play for anyone else in the playoffs.

The only reason not to release Wilcox is if we want him back next year, and wanted to retain his non-Bird rights.  That only comes into play if the team basically plans to bring everybody back next year, and chooses to forego cap space for a season.

Yeah, that's a possibility.  But, if we bring everyone back next year, couldn't we just sign him to the space exception?  Don't think the exception is much less than he's making this year, and coming off heart surgery, might be more than he'd make elsewhere anyways.

EDIT:  Just another thought on that.  If say, we do just re-sign our own FA's, and never renounce their right's (and accompanying cap holds-likely leaving us over the cap), wouldn't we still be entitled to the MLE as well as bi-annual exception?

there is no more bi annual, but we would still get the min mid level. at least i think you get the min if your over the cap, maybe im remembering wrong and you get the true mid level unless you in the luxury tax.

I think it was mini-mid for taxpayers, mid for non-taxpayers over the cap.

I'm not sure going over the cap is a good idea, but if we did think we could bring the band back together plus Jeff Green and a $5M MLE player and be a playoff team while the draft picks develop, cool.  But as usual, we need a center.

I still can't understand why Tanguay ever got that job to begin with, Him and Donny Marshall.
