Get Paul Davis or James Augustine agents on the phone. Those guys are NBA quality players who may be made available by $500k.

I hope Oneal is able to come back. I know he gets a bad wrap around here but I like his play. He brings incredibly underratted defense to this team.

what about rebounding?
the price does not include rebounds.

JO.

JjJ and CJ would be an insanely athletic lineup. Unfortunately would only be able to use it in certain situations.

If there isn't a situation where Doc uses JJJ now, I doubt just because we add CJ there would be a reason for him to do it then...
It takes me 3hrs to get to Miami and 1hr to get to Orlando... but I *SPIT* on their NBA teams! "Bless God and bless the (Celts)"-Lady GaGa (she said gays but she really meant Celts)

Is Chris Johnson someone who would do enough of what Doc wants on defense (more than JJJ, at least) so that JuJuan Johnson would have a clear illustration using a similar player of what he has to do to earn playing time?

I don't think so, from what I remember and have seen, he's a horrid interior defender. Good shot-blocker with his length, but terrible at actual defense.
2023 Historical Draft: Toronto Raptors

Point Guard: Anfernee Hardaway, Fat Lever, Terrell Brandon
Shooting Guard: Paul Westphal, Paul Pressey
Small Forward: Marques Johnson, Danny Granger
Power Forward: Jermaine O'Neal, Bobby Jones, Kiki Vandeweghe
Center: Marc Gasol, Serge Ibaka

That is what happens when you are a big playing at 200 pounds in this league. Going up against guys who outweigh you by 50 pounds.

How is Johnson as a defensive rebounder?

That's really all I care about. Don't give me the .9 rebounds a game. He seems very long and I feel like I've seen him rebound well but not sure if thats just in few games.

When I watch JuJuan play he just is a very bad defensive rebounder at this point

I'd be more concerned about his pick and roll defense and his ability to learn defensive rotations than I would be about man-to-man or post defense.  Or, rather, I think that Doc would be more concerned about that and a willingness to buy into a team defensive scheme that can cover for some individual shortcomings.

As for rebounding:
JuJuan Johnson 8.7 ORB%, 13.1 DRB%, 11.0 TRB%
Chris Johnson (this season) 9.1 ORB%, 12.6 DRB%, 11.2 TRB%
Chris Johnson (last season) 10.3 ORB%, 18.2 DRB%, 14.2 TRB%

And blah blah blah we need a center, so we go after a player who weighs less than JJJ (who isn't allowed to play center) to play for us?
Well... one of these guys has experience playing C in the NBA.
Doc could play JJJ at center for 5 minutes and then he would have experience playing center in the NBA.

Its comedy at this point. KG and two D-Leaguers holding the front line.

Pure comedy.

  • Eagerly Awaiting the Next Fantasy Draft
I think we end up exploring our options as far as seeing who we can get between Kaman, Turiaf, Diaw and any other legit big that gets cut. Then if we can't get those guys we sign Johnson.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

I am just trying to figure out how a guy who couldn't help Portland is going to help the Celtics. Oh, nevermind. He won't.
