Only if he agrees to daily drug testing and to not shoot any threes ever.

If he can't agree to that then I'd rather have an NBDL all star

I was going to say, "only if the league agrees not to drug test him."  Just get a card, 'Sheed.  It's almost legal in Mass, anyway.

If JO is definitely out for the year, I'd give it a go.  I don't have high hopes, but if he's miraculously in no worse shape than he was last time he was here (unlikely), he could help.
He didn't help last time. Just cause the guy teased us late in the playoffs doesn't mean anything

Only if Doc keeps Sheed in a third string center role.

I don't want to see him move ahead of Stiemsma simply because of his past accomplishments. More often than not, I expect Stiemsma to offer more than Sheed does. But having Sheed's body and low post defense would be a useful alternative to have behind Stiemsma's shot-blocking and rebounding. They provide a nice contrast to one another.

I don't think I trust Doc enough to bring Sheed back. So I probably wouldn't do so even though I think Sheed's addition could bring a small added value to the team. Not worth the risk.

Not to mention we can keep him out of LA and Miami. If he ain't winning the ring with us, I definitely don't want him winning one with any of our rivals.

Totally agreed. I can envision Sheed nailing a dagger 3 to bury us in the playoffs, and signing him would eliminate that possibility.

I think people either didn't realize or underestimate how bad Sheed was for us 2 years ago. He can only be worse now at age 37. He was out of shape, didn't get back on D or run the court also couldn't hit anything or rebound effectively. Yes, it takes a team to win a championship but championship teams also sometimes have bad players. If he was better we probably would have won it all. I would love him to be out of shape, not rebound and jack up threes for Miami ,LA or anyone other than Boston!

sign sheed and antoine.   Boston threw in the towel already.  At least that would be fun.

I'd rather just watch this team give one more go. After all, next year the teams rebuilding and will probably be 9-60 or something like that.

This is the last year of watchable celtic games. Enjoy it.

How long will we will continue to ignore the obvious answer? Toine was one of the most entertaining Celtics, and he still appears on several soda machines throughout greater New England. I think the least we could do is get the guy back to even with Vegas, even if he just rides the bench.

I think it's actually just the opposite. I think people saw him jack up 3's and get technicals and thats all they remember him by. He was very solid on defense and was respectable offensively and BARELY MISSED A GAME ALL YEAR.

He was 100% better than what JO has given us. I mean Sheed has played in more games in 1 year than JO will in 2

How could anyone forget the defense Sheed played on Dwight? It was a thing of beauty. The Celtics should be all over this if Kaman isn't bought out.

If Sheed is still near 7 ft tall and can walk around in the paint a little, and he gets in the way of people driving to the basket., still might be useful for a few mintues a game.

Just a big statue like JO to plug up the lane some.

Heck.,might as well ,nothing to lose, we are a headed in lottery direction next year anyway without infusion of some major new talent.

we have a need..the need for sheed...if we can't get kaman then we really would have the need for sheed

I think we should get him regardless of a Kaman signing. If Wilcox and JO are bought out, then we need to replace those with two bigs. A big man rotation of KG, Kaman, Bass, and Sheed at 10-15 MPG is solid.

Sheed's per 36 minutes numbers were atrocious.

14.4 points 6.6 rebounds 40.9 fg% 28% from 3pt. Terrible and can only get worse. He was too out of shape to play D so he gave up his fouls.
