Let him be innocent until proven guilty. If he's guilty, be ruthless.

On principle I:

1. Refuse to buy him out
2. Refuse to let him anywhere near the team
3. Let him rot at home for the rest of the season

He can win a Nerf ball championship in his living room.

I do find this somewhat hard to believe.  If anything, I think JO would just wimp out and retire.  And I'm all for crucifying him for that.

But I guess time will tell.

I would respect him if he retired. I mean, he has basically been retired for years now, if he made it official and stopped collecting money it would be a big step in the right direction for him. Now asking a buyout to go rob some more cash from the heat with the hope of sitting on the bench and having a ring fall out of the sky for him so he can call himself a champion, that's disgusting.

I have no problems with Jermaine O'Neal requesting a buy-out. Understandable he wants to play for a contender.
JO is one of the major reasons we are not a contender...

exactly, and the fact that a celtics fan would defend him wanting to ditch us for the heat after all the money he stole from us is downright shocking

Would people have such a problem with this if JO said, "Release me, so I can finish my career in Indiana"?
DKC League is now on reddit!: http://www.reddit.com/r/dkcleague

Yes. I have a problem with him wanting to play anywhere, even the D-league, because we have been paying him to play and he doesn't play for us, so if he suddenly suites up and plays after leaving here, he's a class A jerk.

I have a hard time believing this team is a JO away from being a contender. If so, it's amazing Ainge didn't spend a couple of second rounders getting a JO-level of player to replace him.

Ainge sounded like he's seriously considering negotiating the buyout.

O'Neal didn't steal any money. He signed a contract that was offered to him. Not his decision.

he was payed to play basketball, not to fake injuries and then run off to play for someone else, that's stealing. Is that you JO? Because I can't imagine a celtics fan defending such behavior. I have always stood up for the guy and took him at his word, but if he is really asking a buyout to play for another team after not playing for us for 2 years, then I was an idiot and he's a piece of crap.
