KG is a legit C at this point in his career.

I would have liked to see Danny get some big man help for the team, but having KG play the 5 is better than what most teams start at the position.

KG is not a center. A frontcourt of KG/Bass will get eaten up in the playoffs.

... Ok in reality I guess they are putting all of their hope in buyout deals.  It's Chris Kaman or bust... kinda like how last year it was Shaq or bust.  That worked out pretty well...

The Celtics have shown they are willing to be patient and let the money come off the cap this summer.  Nothing wrong with that.

I think the trades that were actually made suggest that Ainge wasn't getting anything useful unless he traded a first round pick (if he wanted to improve the team this season) or took on a Luke Walton-level player signed to a Luke Walton-like contract (if he wanted to acquire a draft pick or some other asset for the future).

Given those constraints, I think "no deal" was probably the best option.

Just a personal preference - I feel like it is slightly more accurate to refer to him as 'JO's bloated carcass' rather than 'corpse of JO'.

Well, to be fair, there is almost no chance they don't add a couple free agents/buyout guys.  But, they aren't going to make a huge difference.

I think Danny was faced with overapying for a very long shot with a first round pick. (Jordan Hill level/Sessions, upgrades that wouldn't make us contenders) Or trading Ray Allen for just a low first round pick or a meh player.

I can see why he'd rather just stand pat, trading Ray would make us worse but not bad enough for the lottery. So why give him up for just another low first round pick when we already have two.

Exactly.  This team will make their moves this summer.  Danny tried to either get a great deal for one of their guys, or tried to get some help without giving up any future assets.  There was nothing there, so here we are.

Let's just enjoy the swan song of the Big 3 era, hope for some fun in the playoffs, and then start fresh this summer.

Exactly.  sounds like alot of folks wanted a deal just for the sake of having a deal.  I'm glad we stayed pat, some buyout bigs will fall from the tree, and we can have a very busy off season with significant cap space.

It has nothing to do with wanting a deal just for the sake of having a deal. That's pretty much what happened last year and look where it got us.

We needed a deal if in fact the decision was made to go for one more run with the core in tact. Minor deals for role playing big men so we can have some depth. That's all.
