Nate punched Rondo in the grill tonight

We won but it wasn't because of Rondo.  You knew he would play great against Chris Paul because of the trade talk in the summer.  I just had a feeling he wouldn't give a great effort tonight and he didn't. Really maddening but it does pick up when it matters.  Just frustrating he can't be a better pro..

Sometimes I wonder if he slacks off to make others step up. Knowing he can switch to that gear. Pdub frustrates me with all the walking jogging and standing still during crucial minutes. Maybe Rondo just wants folks to move their self up the floor.

This is the only reason his name has ever been in trade rumors. If he put in a more consistent effort, he would never give anyone thoughts of trading him.

Thing is that if you give any NBA PG the open lane like rondo did tonight you'll get torched, no matter who it is. Its not even an effort thing. Its getting down in the right position and sliding to stay with your man, which we know he can do. He just switched off.

I took this in the literal sense. Was looking for a youtube video lol. Might have been that Nate was more motivated to play us than vice versa. Rondo did have something stupid like 15 assists.

Whenever I watch Bradley or many of the other point guards in the NBA play, it becomes glaringly obvious how rare a player like Rondo is (i.e. handling, playmaking, leadership) It's no small feat having to deal with all the egos on that team, in addition to directing the offense in the manner he does. If only his play was more consistent...

The Sixers are about to play the Heat and the Bulls back to back and we couldn't afford to drop a game to the Warriors, who gives a [dang] what Rondo looked like in our win? I'll take a win that looks just like it on Friday.

He had a couple turnstile defensive plays in the end. His off ball defense is really good so the point guard ends up trapped a lot of the time. I wish he'd just play honest at the end of the games. Rondo yesterday vs. Chris Paul for the last one or two minutes would've been much better.

His team defense is something else though. If he'd do man defense the hard way in key possessions, I think he'd get less critique for it.

But this is just a basketball hobbyist's observations.

My first reaction: TOMMY POINT!
Then it hit me: In the last 70 years (yes I know the league wasn't formed 70 years ago) we never really looked at other teams' schedules to find a chance to improve our position. Even fighting for the top seeds, we sort of just pondered who we were going to hit in the first round.

I never try to go out of my way to single out rondo but today his performance on the defensive end today was laughably bad throughout the entire game. Offensively he was his fine and very impressive at times but he got cut up on defense.

anyone notice late in game when golden state had a switch and ended up with the rookie guard (nice game) on kg in lane, ray or paul had the ball and didn't notice it, you could hear rondo yelling kg kg kg until the pass was made into post for easy bucket, no assist for rondo but THAT is something that sets him apart from everyone but kg on our team, both players do so much that doesn't show up in stat sheet, defensive communication of those 2 is awesome, i don't want kg to retire after this season

seemed to me celtics were playing zone near end of game (just like clippers game) , if so that is different  line up / spacing for 2 top people

as far as rondo, to me at this point he is our team mvp, pp has been inconsistent , ray looked good early in season and has been  since, kg started slow and now looks like a guy who should be defensive player of year votes

Not all Rondo's fault, the big is supposed to show on those pick and rolls as he fights over the pick, and late game drives to the hoop by Nate were because of Bass not switching properly. I had no big issue with Rondo's game last night.
