Let the Gerald Green Talk start....

Good for him. Down the line I wouldn't hate if he came back (if he could help the team) but his leaving was apparently the right move for everyone. I'll always remember him as a Celtic. He was all highlights and headaches when their wasn't much to get up about.

I went out on that limb weeeeks ago while he was in the Dleague saying we should jump on him while he's cheap. This summer I wouldn't mind signing him to a 4yr 15 mil contract before he outplays that price range. I saw the maturity in his body/body language & game. Im happy that he is playing well because I went out on a limb in support & took a verbal beating by some for it. Lol

well, he's looking good, but I don't think he's going to get that type of contract/money. Of course, I'll be happy for Gerald if someone signs him for that.

For sentimental reasons, we should try to get him... sad thing is this is business and there are some guys out there capable of doing what he does (minus the all-world athleticism). If he's back in green, getting Marquis spot, I wouldn't be against it. Bradley is improving day by day and Quisy won't be needed as an insurance end-of-the-bench ballhandler, which he does nicely when healthy (ugh).

People are fascinated with dunking, and they confuse it with basketball skill instead of what it is: a relatively meaningless and small part of a decent basketball skillset.

The idea that Green deserves $15 million, though, should have Wyc and Danny laughing heartily, and given the way this season has gone, they can surely use a good horselaugh.

For the life of me, I can' understand what people see in Gerald Green  

He's extremely athletic, has size, and can shoot. When he was with us he was also young and undeveloped.

A lot of people are fond of him because he was a bright spot during a few losing seasons. Dunking is fun.

The things he struggled at the most are harder to measure (lateral quickness, consistent effort, recognizing when to rotate on defense, carelessness with the ball/poor ball-handling), moving without the ball). People think those are easier to solve than, "he can't shoot", "he's slow", "he's short" etc.

Nice showing by him, so far. I'm glad he's back in the NBA and getting another opportunity.

I can't speak bad about the man, especially since he was part of the package that Minny wanted for us to get KG.....

Gerald Green was not a drafting error.   People were still very high on his potential back in the summer of '07, and he was a big part of the reason that the KG trade was able to get done.

Boston - traded
Minnesota - traded
Houston - waived
Mavericks - not re-signed
Went to play in Russia -  2 teams in 2 years
Went to play in China - Contract terminated
Lakers - waived
D-League
Now with the Nets

A few good games isn't going to change the fact that he has been awful and teams have moved on every time he went somewhere.

Green signed with the Nets for the rest of the season today. The Nets reportedly were looking to sign Gerald for next season as well, but Green's agent wanted GG's options to remain open and have him hit free agency.

So far in New Jersey he's put up a 17.4 PER and a 105 oRtg on a .60% TS%. He's mostly been utilized as an isolation player, which in my opinion isn't his strength, but he's made the most of it so far. His post up game has developed quite a bit, with a nice turnaround jumper and jumpstop into the lane becoming staples in his repertoire. Nets fans seem to be in love with him, and Avery Johnson has had nothing but good things to say about his defense.

Looks like GG might stick around this time. Good for him.

For all the people hating on Gerald very apparent improvement, I don't care what they think. Dude is balling & would be our 6th best player if he was here now. Again to the people who has not seen GG Play since the 2012 version of Gerald, he is lightyears more improved & mutured basketball player than the little kid that left in 07. And the good part for GG is that he may be even more talented. Better athleticism due to weight training & body maturity.

That may be true, but he still ranks 400th in the NBA in points allowed per possession.  Small sample size or not, that's horrific.

Just when you thought the Bring Back Gerald Green threads were dying down he has a week of good games and now we'll have another 5 years of them.
