Latest on Wilcox and O'Neal?

Seems very quiet on that front. I would think there would be some announcement about their status before the deadline. Has anyone heard anything?

Hopefully JO goes for something, Feel bad for Wilcox.. Was really coming into his own.. Well We shall see hopefully tomorrow we can package these two up for something nice

If either can play in the playoffs, then they'll be more use staying than going, but I have my doubts that either will be able to play again this year. Wilcox's heart problem is likely to sideline him, at least, the rest of this year...let's hope for his sake that is the full extent of it.  JO, isn't going to heal without the surgery and he doesn't seem to be able to play through the pain he has without it, so I think he is done for this year.

OTOH, I think it's a long shot that the C's can parley the expiring contracts of JO and Chris Wilcox into anything more than a second round pick, or two. Sure, JO, Wilcox, Dooling and Daniels matches Okafor and saves NO $20 million, but I can't see them doing it and with Okafor's contract length, I'm not sure I can see Danny doing it either.

I'd think if it's bad news for both of those guys the Celtics wouldn't want to announce it--and appear as desperate as they are--before the trade deadline has passed.

I agree.  From everytihng I read JO is done, and it doesn't look good for Wilcox or Doc wouldn't have compared him to Green, but why promote the fact right now?  It does nothing for us...

Latest from Boston Herald is that the tests haven't gone well and Wilcox is likely done for the year.

wow, I hope Wilcox is ok. That's a tough blow for him long term. They mentioned he was getting monthly heart exams for the last 5 years. Did he have heart issues before?

I think they said no history of a problem... it could be family history that would cause him to watch out to try and catch it before something bad happened (death).

So, if Ainge can't flip Wilcox's expiring contract for something, it makes sense to waive Wilcox and sign any warm body big, even if it is Mikki Moore.
