I wish he would but I would be shocked if he did.

Reportedly, he loves living in LA and he has a lot of talent around him with the Clippers. Just need to upgrade their supporting cast to put them in title contention. Should be able to do that easily enough and in time for next season.

I can't see CP3 leaving that enticing a situation.

Why would he leave Blake Griffin?

Clippers just need an off season or two to acquire the right players to go around them.

They need a solid , borderline star or star 2 guard with length, and a good bench.

They already have the building blocks in place.

Nobody expected the Clippers to win the title this year, but next year they will be better, remember they were title contenders until they lost Billups

I think the Clippers need (1) a pair of high quality role players at the two and three who can defend and rebound their positions and are high level set shooters from the perimeter, and, (2) to wait for DeAndre Jordan to grow up and become more of an impact player. Might need a better Head Coach to help here.

Actually, they need a better head coach regardless. Two role players, a head coach and some time and patience for DeAndre Jordan's development.

Something like this:

C  - DeAndre Jordan,
PF - Blake Griffin,
SF - Jared Dudley, Caron Butler
SG - Danny Green,
PG - Chris Paul, Mo Williams

It'd be great if they could keep Kenyon Martin and Reggie Evans around. Otherwise, they'd need a quality backup big man too.

I don't think so, he was never signing an extension he could only have added one more year to his deal if he did, by picking up his 2 year option (which he has confirmed he will) he will be able to get a full on max 5 yr deal from LA once his deal comes back up. He's there for the next 7 years and Blake too.

I too can't stand this punk, like D-Wade he's a dirty player IMO. And not the tough guy KG dirty, but injure a player dirty. The only silver lining here is that he could make the Clippers the #1 team in LA which is some consolation.

Absolutely agree about the head coach. Del Negro is almost as bad as D'Antoni.  He sat Jordan the entire 4th quarter last night even though the Celtics could not match-up with their size.  He has no idea how to design an offense, he totally relies on CP3 to make it up on the fly.

agreed on the del negro points I was saying this last night the clips would probably be like 30-10 if someone like doc was coaching them (even with the void at sg). Vinny del negro is a terrible coach and the bulls realized that awhile ago. Oh and cp3 isnt going anywhere... la, a young team with blake, its a good deal for him.

Yeah the prevailing sentiment here is right...I can't see Del Negro lasting past this year.

He's pretty good with young players but when it's time for those players to become winners that's when he needs to move on.  Chicago owes a lot to Del Negro for dealing with the growing pains there, but after he left they've never looked back.

I don't necessarily agree that Paul is a punk. Compared to how Melo and  Howard have handled their trade demands, I think Paul approached his situation far more professionally. Also, I think the Clippers have done an admirable job quickly putting together a nice supporting cast around CP3. (Butler, Martin, Evans, Billups, although injured) all acquired this year. Seems like a situation he will stick with...

In regards to being a "dirty player", ask any Bulls fan how they feel about Rondo and they'll say he's the dirtiest player in the NBA after the Brad Miller "what did the 5 fingers say to the face?" smack in the playoffs. Ask most fans outside of Minny and Boston about KG and they'll say he's a dirty player and a punk. 

Paul is a competitor that will scratch, bite and claw his way to get an advantage. I'd take a guy like him on my team anyday.
