Maybe I'm wrong, but I feel like I remember a rumor last year or the year before about Ellis going to the bucks.  Interesting trade.  If Bogut stays healthy, he and David Lee could be a nice pair of bigs to rebound for Ellis, Thompson and Jackson while the rain down threes.

Love it for Golden State as long as S-jax gets his head right. If he doesn't or continues to cry for an extension while shooting 30% from the field, Golden state would be better served buying him out and giving all those minutes to Thompson.

Wish they would've held on to Udoh though. Udoh/Bogut wouldve been a heck of a tandem.

Yeah, agreed. If they could have kept Udoh, that would've been clutch. Only other problem is Curry and Bogut are huge injury risks, despite the talent. But those are two solid building blocks.

I hate the Jennings/Ellis backcourt, so so so much.

Good trade for the Bucks as long as they get rid of Jennings.

And so it begins...

Random trade out of thin air that no one guessed would happen. I have a feeling this is how most deals will go.

Not exactly random; it's been known the Bucks were looking to move Bogut and likewise with GS and Monta.

Also, somewhere in Orlando the Magic are cringing that Ellis and Jackson aren't coming there.

Nice deal for the Warriors (if Bogut is healthy, big if) - looks like overpaying Kwame wound up paying off for them anyway.  But they got the center they've needed for years.  Gotta keep him on the court though.

As for the Bucks...they get rid of Jackson, maybe that's addition by subtraction.  And Udoh's a decent prospect.  But that backcourt might set the record for most missed shots in a season next year.  And their defense at guard will cost Skiles what little hair he's got left.

EDIT:  Wow, I don't think I've ever seen opinion so split on a non-Celtics trade here.  Guess we'll have to see how everything shakes out when Bogut returns.

I dont really like it for either team. Ellis and Bogut playing together would have been nice. But now who scores at the guard spot in GS if curry is hurt? Who plays the big man game out in Milwaukee? and why do they need to ball dominate guards? I dont see either fitting in well for either side.

According to SF Chronicle beat writer Rusty Simmons:

Quote
“Lots of head shaking among Warriors players. Steph Curry just walked over to a solo Udoh and hugged him.”

“Dorell Wright, ‘I’ll talk about the game. I’m not talking about the trade crap.’ ”

“Ekpe Udoh says he hasn’t been informed of a trade. ‘I’ve got 80 minutes to find out.’ ”

One Warriors player said: “If we’re giving up, I can feel my hip hurting already.”

He said on Twitter that Monta Ellis looks happy addressing the media.
"The worst thing that ever happened in sports was sports radio, and the internet is sports radio on steroids with lower IQs.” -- Brian Burke, former Toronto Maple Leafs senior adviser, at the 2013 MIT Sloan Sports Analytics Conference

Interesting the comment about giving up. Warriors aren't making the play-offs this year but a Curry/Lee/Bogut core is solid and they should be able to pick up a nice wing in the draft.

So does Monta make the Bucks better or worse? Do the Bucks still make the play-offs?

Relative to a guy who's hurt and a guy in the doghouse all year, absolutely.  And Udoh will help them up front.  Long-term, eh I don't think so but others disagree and I've been wrong many times.

Once Jennings is traded, and he will be traded, I like this trade for the Bucks.

Bogut is a huge injury risk now. There's no other way of putting it. He's played in 36, 69, 66 and 12 games over the last four year and missed the playoffs in the year he played 69 games because he was injured. Can he be counted on?

People thought Yao Ming could be counted on the final 4 years of his career before finally having to call it quits at the age of 30. Sometimes young guys are injury prone and only shine for a few seasons when they are very young before finally having to hang them up.

Is Bogut like that? I don't know but I would trade away that uncertainty for a talent like Ellis and a player with potential like Udoh every day of the week.

And besides dumping Capt Jack at this stage of his career is addition by subtraction.

GSW is taking a huge risk with the injury riddled Bogut/Curry combo and throwing the match to an inflammable situation by also getting Jackson. Good luck to that franchise.

I think the Warriors will shut down Curry and tank the season. They'll have to send their 1st round pick for the Jazz if they finish out of the top-8 this year. So by tanking they can keep their pick and add another piece next Summer.

Who plays the big man game out in Milwaukee? and why do they need to ball dominate guards? I dont see either fitting in well for either side.

I don't see Jennins/Ellis working in the long-term - they'll probably trade one at some point -, but it can be fun for awhile. They add Udoh - a good defensive player - to Sanders, Gooden and LRMAM.

I think this is bad news for the Knicks. The Bucks have improved for this season - they have a strong chance of making the playoffs now.
