Not that I think that he's going to get traded but would Ainge come out and say that Rondo is getting traded?  Of course not.

Nope. Like you said of course not. But he wouldn't go out of his way to vehemently deny it multiple times. He would either be vague with his answers or not address it all.

At this point I think Ainge should have a clear idea the market for Rondo and whether or not he's going to pursue any of the potential trades.

So while I do think he'd lie to the media rather than tip his hand given the various scenarios floated around I don't think Rondo is going anywhere. No package has offered enough value for Rondo.

Agreed.  Things can certainly change quickly, but I think Danny really just has not liked the offers he has gotten for Rondo, and has all but set his course with him on board...at least until the end of the year.

Agree with both post above. Part of job is to be sneaky,  he can't give away his plans , options, or future opinions at a whim to satisfy us fans.

I have a old collector car I'm not especially looking to sell.  I get asked everyday do I want to sell, and the answer so far has been "no "  so far. But, ONE DAY,  if the right offer hits I might surprize myself, and everybody and say yes.

I think DA could trade Rondo in a blink of an eye if he felt it was a great move for the team.

But as said above , If and when he goes Rondo won't be moved for peanuts and he shouldn't.

Good news, perhaps, from Danny.

I may get flailed for this :), but I'd be hesitant to trade Rondo for even CP3, at this point.

I know that the Celtics' team defense hemmed up CP3 last night, but man I know that Rondo spent a good amount of time on him - and was very effective.

I know that RIGHT NOW - CP3 is still a better shooter than Rondo.

But NEXT YEAR? With the way that Rondo is taking strides? His potential, to me, is still sky-high. Where this guy could end up talent-wise? With a reliable jumper?

What in the world will separate him and CP3/Deron Williams once this happens? And by all accounts it LOOKS like it will happen.

And judging by how much attention Kobe had to pay to him on Sunday, I'd say that he is trending towards the positive, here.

Yeah, the unspoken end to the quote is "Rondo's not being traded for anything that's been offered or looks at all likely to be."  Which is the right attitude I think.

That doesn't separate him from every other player in the league. The only reason anyone's still on their team is because none of the inquiries into that player would yield a valuable enough return.

Obviously after seeing what Ainge wanted for Ray Allen (thanks for opening the trap, Larry), the price tag for any of the big 4 is most likely off the charts.  You're going to have to bring a player and a 1st round pick, and that may be the start of it, depending on which of the 4 you're looking at.

There has been speculation about Indiana as a trade partner involving Rondo. I wonder whether Danny would consider Hibbert as enough value to say yes to a trade for Rondo? Likewise, would the Pacers consider trading Hibbert for Rondo?

1.  There's no way Danny would trade for Hibbert if there's even a one-in-a-billion chance of landing Howard.

2.  Does anyone think Hibbert is a better rebuilding piece than Rondo?

So what you're saying is... Rondo is definitely being traded?
