Not complaining, but it's just dumb, dumb, dumb

I don't care if the c's are going small, go big if you are LAC. Especially after Bass fouled out. It makes no sense.....

The same reason Perkins used to sit during most of the 4th quarter.

In a slow, grind it out half court game hes an offensive liability.

He seems to have been sitting out a lot over the past few games. Not just tonight.

Del Negro just got out coached by doc tonight. Was just reacting to everything doc did.

Surprised too. Especially when we had Pietrus (or Pierce?) playing PF at the end of the game.

I was a little confused about MO williams too. I wasn't completely paying attention to who else was in the game but isn't Caron Butler a better match up on Pierce or Ray than Mo? Mo was pretty good offensively but his defense made it really easy for us to get quality looks and help put them in the penalty

Just checked his stats on ESPN..the man is shooting 47% from the stripe :o...that is actually a 5% improvement for his career.

http://espn.go.com/nba/player/_/id/3442/deandre-jordan

In contrast, Perk is over 60% for his career, and nearly 67% this season.

I can see why the Clips keep him on the bench, now. They are going to be exploited if they meet the Lakers in the playoffs. If Gasol is still there, him and Bynum are going to abuse Grif and DeAndre. I'm sure Griff would get a few dunks, but that's it.

I think the Clips will be exploited against whoever they meet in the playoffs. No easy road for them, there.

The thing is about him being a bad foul shooter is that KG had 4 fouls entering the 4th. Bass had 5. And that was it. We wouldn't have been able to really foul him much and we wouldn't have anyway in a close game.

Ok.  Good to know I wasn't the only one who noticed this.  I mentioned it in the front page game thread.

Sure, he's a terrible FT shooter, but he would have just fouled out our whole front line if we tried to take advantage of that fact.  Plus, him not being in allowed us to play the small. Lineup we prefer with Pierce at PF.

Sure seemed dumb to me.

For those who want to do a trade with the Wizards, just remember that Javale McGee is like a less intelligent Deandre Jordan.

Yeah, I don't get this at all. Bass was out of the game, KG had five fouls for the last couple minutes. If you had Jordan and Griffin in there, we'd be playing the last couple minutes with Steamer and Johnson (or Pietrus) as our 5 and 4. It would've been a huge joke at that point.

Yeah ... had me wondering as well.

I understand his deficiencies and the reasons behind limiting his time late in such games, but against the C's?

He was doing a job on us tonight, not to mention getting under KG's skin, (which can work to our favor at times, but can backfire, too).

A bit of questionable coaching on LA's side in this one, (not to mention some horrible officiating for both sides), but opposingly, Doc was great ... glad he's ours.

Yes, but with more offensive weapons. McGee has a sweet hook shot :)

As for the original question:  Vinny Del Negro probably thinks "Offensive rebounds - schmoffensive rebounds. We don't need 2nd chance points, we need 1st chance points."

I suspect Del Negro took Jordan off because KG was drawing him out of the key and knocking in jumpers over his head. When Jordan isnt defending the paint, he's utterly useless. Another advantage of playing KG at the five.
