No. Raymond Felton was better than Lin in NYC. Lin < Felton < Melo.
I'm not really sure what including Felton says about this. When Felton was in NY he was talked about as a potential all star, and Lin has been playing even better than that.
Add in the fact that Lin seems to make everyone else on that team play better (Chandler, Novak, Shumpert, Amare), plays better defense at his position than Melo, and appears to be a more capable floor general (if not leader), and I think this is a reasonable question.
Is Lin a better, more dominant, or more skilled player than Melo?...No. Melos offensive capabilities far outweigh what Lin brings to the table in a strict player to player comparison. But when you talk about comparing them as "all around players", you have to include their defense, leadership, and team impact...Those 3 things level the playing field for Lin, and make this a tough question IMO.
