I agree..in our current form we would better served stock piling picks than going on the road to play Heat or Bulls in first round. This road trip will show you exactly what we know we have in this aging team, one that cannot beat good teams on the road when it counts.

I would imagine the next game will be another loss vs. Clippers.

I'm glad the guys are fighting hard in all games like the recent Laker loss.

But truth be told, we are a second round exit AT BEST.

Honestly I'd rather not make the playoffs and get a better draft pick, but that's just me.

It was a close loss to a similarly flawed team.  Not much to be drawn from it other than frustration at how close we were to sticking it to our old rivals.

Im just wondering wat it'll be like on this site once we go into the rebuilding mode that you guys keep clamoring for. Nobody in this upcoming draft is a franchise changing player nd our young assets are Rondo Bradley nd JJJ. If ya'll would rather watch a team like tht give or take a few overpaid players in the free agency of 2012 then the final year of a era of contending nd a playoff apperance wit 3 future hall of famers then iont see eye to eye wit yall

I don't consider the Lakers as currently constructed "good." IMO we're pretty much the same team with them having much more size which is where we lack, but we have a pretty good PG, which they lack.

Loss still hurts either way.

Look - Rajon Rondo sits at the dinner table with CP3 and Deron Williams, today. Plain and simple.

He probably took CP3's spot at the head of the table based on this game, if you ask me .

I know - it's just one game, but you have to admit that Rajon Rondo is getting better.

Kobe cheated off of him less, today.

I've harped on Rondo a lot the last few min, but he played his tail off (the entire team did) against one of the top defenses in the game - minus JO and Wilcox.

I think the rationale of those who want to blow it up is exactly to speed up the rebuilding process in order to make the team a contender again as soon as possible.

Personally, I think that Ainge needs to do something. Either strengthen this team this season or blow it up to position the franchise better for the rebuilding process.

Me neither. Same slowness problems of last year aggravated by the fact that their starting PF was traded. Now they have a frontcourt rotation of 4 centers (in terms of quickness they're all centers) and 2 slow footed SFs. Still no dribble penetration, still not enough 3pt shooting to have decent spacing, still a hyper-inflation of post play. Plus, Kobe seems more interested in the scoring title than in winning games.

The one time I actively rooted for us to tank... we won a title that very next year.  So I'd say you're wrong.

"Speed it up by 2 months"... Depends what you mean.  I think most "blow it up" supporters want us to move Ray for a draft pick (to a team like Chicago) without taking back salary.  Getting a draft pick as opposed to NOTHING in 2 months seems like a "win".   Also, trading Pierce for a pick/young talent/cap space right now could speed up our "rebuild" by several years.  Short-sighted people don't understand the difference between 25 mil in cap space + 35 year old pierce and 41 mil in cap space + young talent and/or 1st round gold.  The flexibility trading Pierce allows is massive.  It doesn't "speed it up by 2 months"... it could theoretically speed it up by 15 years.
