Celts played way better than anyone had the right to expect given they had no inside presence. Yet, it is a game they should have won. 5 point lead with less than two minutes and they allow the Lakers to score the last 8 points while going scoreless. Pretty epic gag job. Sadly, I think this sets the tone for a 3-5 road trip at best.

Going to be a long rest of the season. Please, Danny, start collecting assets.

I don't really consider it a choke . . . they just did the same thing they've done all season.  For about a season and a half now, actually.

They lost because the jumpshots stopped falling and the other team had a big advantage inside.

Same old song and dance.

they were going against two 7 footers without a center.

We are 0-9 this year against contenders... Miami, Dallas, Chicago, OKC and the Lakers have owned us.

0-9 (we have 1 win against the bulls without rose that I don't count)

Pick whatever excuse you want... fact is we aren't very good without a center.

Not a choke... we just aren't very good.  Either we get a center or we need to dump Pierce and Ray for assets while they still have value.  I expect something major in the next 4 days.

Well, I don't see how we can get a center without compromising the rest of the roster, so I'm gonna go with "dump Pierce and Ray for assets."

Choke? Hardly.

It was hilarious watching a skinny KG trying to defend against Bynum.

O'Neal is always injured, Wilcox might be out for the season, we have no big man presence.Centers like Bynum will dominate us.

If I was Ainge I'd throw everything but the kitchen sink to get Howard but keep Rondo.
Celtics' turn on switch for the playoffs: the last bastion of hope for battered Celtic fans.

The only sign of a choke I saw was on Bass's last shot.  He's money on that shot, and he just pulled up on it in the clutch.
Yup

The Celtics didn't do much wrong.  They just got exploited for their weaknesses (lack of size in the paint) and missed a few more decent looks than the Lakers did.
2025 Draft: Chicago Bulls

PG: Chauncey Billups/Deron Williams
SG: Kobe Bryant/Eric Gordon
SF: Jimmy Butler/Danny Granger/Danilo Gallinari
PF: Al Horford/Zion Williamson
C: Yao Ming/Pau Gasol/Tyson Chandler

A bad team is expected to lose games just the way we have been losing them vs. Good teams all year long. The bottom line is we are what we thought they are...not even close to  competing for a title.

Either get a good tall man from God or get something we can build on in the future.

we don't need an all-star center, we just need a center, period. A semi-healthy JO would even suffice. An old, fat ass Shaq made us look like a championship team last year. I'd settle for Erden at this point.

the thing is, we just have NO presence inside...Bynum just exploited KG/Steimsma/Bass all day

this team needs a real center, and JO doesnt count...

Why the lack of bench play?  Seemed like Stiesma and Pietrus were the only guys to get any minutes.  Our starters could have used a bit more rest and no jjj?  He would pull one big out of rebounding area with his jumper (much like kg)

We actually got more offensive rebounds than the Lakers did. Very similar offensive rebounding percentages for both teams. They just got to the line more often and turned it over more so we got more shots, but the lakers in the end just made more shots than the Cs.

Yeah Bass missed a wide open shot and the Lakers made three tough shots down the stretch. The offensive execution the two plays before Basses jumper is the only thing that bothered me.
