i had to bump this thread because i honestly can't stop watching this dunk.

seriously tho, i've been watching this dunk every few minutes for the past 4 hours.

it's mesmerizing.


1 thing that makes this dunk even better is you get a perfect camera shot of the rockets bench...guys doing everything in their power to not lose their mind.  One dude (is it Patrick Patterson?) even jumps up in awe before he can catch himself haha.

I think he jumps higher now than when he was younger. He looks like he finally grew into his body...a lot stronger.

Thing is though he still has no offensive game. Probably never will because he cannot handle the ball.

If he could just use his gifts to play some D he could probably carve a nice spot for himself in the league.

Instead he looks like an 18 year old kid after an And1 dunk during an exhibition game. This tells me dumping and passing on Green was the right call.

I'll tell you what, when GG becomes a complete player, is in the running for MVP awards every year, and is one of the top 10 players in the league, then he can preen and pose after a dunk and I won't roll my eyes.

there's a slight difference between "lebron, Wade, and Kobe" showboating after a dunk and a guy with one limited offensive skill who is on a 10 day contract doing it. It's his choice, but that lack of maturity, to choose to showboat in a close game rather than bust butt back on D, is one of the reasons he is a bust in the NBA to this point.

I mean the guy is essentially playing for his NBA future. Who would you want to commit to here as a gm?

P.S two of those guys (kobe and wade) would never, ever decide to showboat during LIVE PLAY in a close game at the cost of playing defense. I hate kobe with a passion, and am indifferent on wade, but please show me the clip where either of them dunks and completely ignores there defensive assignment in a tight game so they can show off for the cameras.

In a blow out? sure.

After an and 1? you bet.

but neither of those guys would do that in a close game. LBJ would but not those two.

Now, that aside, sick dunk by GG. Always loved watching him when he was having an on game. But that said, I'll take the win over the "ooooohhhh ahhhhh" moment that GG provides.

Not to say that I like it when they do it either (because I don't), but with 6 titles and 2 or 3 MVP's between them, they probably have a little more clout to pull that move then 10 day contract Gerald Green. His lack of maturity is a documented reason why he is not in the league on a real contract, so for him to know that and to react this way doesn’t speak well to it.

It amazes me how enamored people get with players who dunk well.

I rather enjoy having him in the league.

The humor abounds with people who think that because a guy who's dead between the ears can dunk, he's a good NBA player.

The Celtics' tradition was built on smart, hard-working basketball. Gerald Green is neither, and his presence in the green is one of the franchise's truly embarrassing monents.

Kinda like thinking one dunk makes him a player.
