Why does everyone hate Dooling?

I don't understand. He's a pretty decent defender. He's not a locker room cancer or even a headache. His shooting's been off but so has Pietrus' and before last night, Ray's to some degree. Sure, I'd rather have Delonte, but that's not Dooling's fault, and IIRC, Delonte's injured again. So why does everyone want this guy's head, unless it's just a matter of people going along with everyone else for no reason.

Dooling can't run the offense at all. Bradley is better at it, and just typing that make me throw up in my mouth a little bit.

He used to make some 3's in a game or 2, here or there, but not he's not even making shots.

I think he's dealt with some injuries, and when you're already a backup/reserve player then you get injured, it's basically a huge set back.

Well, I don't hate him, so that kinda rules out the "everyone" thing.

He did a decent job last night, but he really hasn't had many chances to prove himself while in green.

Have to say though, he hasn't impressed me with the chances he has had.

It may be partially just being new to the team and learning the plays, but he's very tentative with everything, and seems confused a good deal of the time.

I think he has more to give once he's settled in, but I also think he may not be here long enough to ever do so.

If you want to stay with a club for any length of time in this league, and earn gametime minutes, you've got to be aggressive and make the most of your opportunities ... he just plain hasn't done so to this point.

But I do like the guy and many aspects of his game, or I should say, talents.

so much promise at the start of the season, to provide some time for ray or rondo..tentative most of the time, besides having been with the team even on such a shortened season, you must have caiught up with the sets, but he's in limbo-land all the time he's on the floor..i don't see him defining at least a game for us, i won't be amazed if he's out of the team by the trading deadline...

I like the guy, not the player. Can't fault him for his effort, but the man's basketball IQ is through the floor. Every time he gets the ball he dribbles for a bit, then either makes a pass to someone who isn't open or launches a contested shot. Those are the only two plays he knows. A good PG needs to know where everyone is; Dooling only sees one person at a time. And he doesn't know how to move without the ball like Avery. Actually, Avery is better on offense even though he can't shoot too well, simply because he knows how to get open for easy lay-ups.

Dooling brings the team down. I don't care that he's a 3rd string PG - I want him off the team. Any PT he gets hurts us.

nobody hates him.  i just hate when he plays.  he has one of the worst +/- stats on the team.  the team instantly plays worse with him on the floor.  his offense is far to poor for him to be a backup to arguably the greatest shooter in NBA history. he takes minutes away from someone like Etwaun who may or may not have a future with the team, when we know Dooling does not have a future with the team.

I don't hate him but he was brought in as rondo's backup, a guy who basically hasn't had a backup since he's been with boston.  He hasn't produced, big disappointment and the turnovers, he doesn't have a handle like a pg and as a sg no thanks.

Poor defense + borderline terrible offense + he's been unavailable + he replaced Delonte West

Say Dooling to yourself 10 times and try not to laugh.
