Longtime basketball writer Roland Lazenby reports that Pau Gasol has been traded, but Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports refutes the report.
Lazenby offered no details on where he is going or for whom Gasol has been traded for, but is reporting that more information will be given shortly. Wojnaroski has said that while Houston has been close in pulling off a deal, there is nothing imminent. Stay tuned.

WHOAAAAA! I don't know who the lakers would want...I imagine Houston wants to pair Lowry/Scola/Gasol, but who are the Lakers gonna take back?

Houston has continued to aggressively probe the Lakers on a potential Pau Gasol trade, but there's no deal close, league sources tell Y!

It seems we'll soon be getting news that Gasol has been traded. No details confirmed, but he's apparently gone.

I heard that the Lakers wanted Scola and Lowry for Gasol, but Houston refused. Maybe it's Scola/Martin/Dragic. That was the package before. LA gets a big, a shooter, and a pg, all needs.

Sounds like Pau Gasol has been traded but not to Houston.

I wish we had Greens rights.  We could have included him into a trade too.

(1) Rondo
(2) Monta Ellis and David Lee or Steph Curry, Dorell Wright and Ekpe Udoh
(3) Amare Stoudemire
(4) Brook Lopez and a bunch of assets
(5) Dwight Howard?
(6) a bunch of stuff from Portland with Gerald Wallace the headliner

From what I've read on twitter, he seems to be a credible source within the Lakers organization. Never heard of him before though...

@GethinCoolbaugh Lzenby isn't a rumor guy but he has written several books on the Lakers, if anyone has an inside source, it would be him

With that said, @lazenby is very credible. Maybe word will spread over the next few hours. We'll see what happens next.

Yeah, he also had this a few weeks ago. Apparently later it was reported that the Wolves wanted a 1st for Beasley, which the Lakers declined. So it looks like he has a good source on the inside.

Longtime basketball writer Roland Lazenby, who has penned several books on the Lakers, reported via Twitter, “I hear they want both Felton and (Minnesota Timberwolves forward Michael) Beasley. That's their goal. But talk is cheap right now. The source is good (though).”

Raymond Felton seems expendable in Portland, and the Lakers need a point guard. (AP Photo)
The Lakers’ interest in Beasley has previously been reported, so Lazenby’s tweet adds some veracity to that rumor.

Another rumor hovering over the Lakers is that Pau Gasol will be traded away. The team, after all, thought it had traded Gasol before the season in a three-way deal that would have brought Chris Paul to the Lakers that was ultimately nixed by commissioner David Stern. And talk around a Gasol deal has never quieted since.

Lazenby’s take on the Lakers bringing aboard Rasheed Wallace: “When the Lakers trade Gasol they're going to need frontcourt depth—insurance for Bynum's knee. It's a short-term policy.”

Lazenby is a very much a respected NBA guy. He has written a load of basketball books. Close ties to the 1990s Chicago Bulls and 2000s LA Lakers. Ran a blog (Lakersnoise.com I think it was) that had some great basketball stories. Some absolutely fantastic stories on there.

Has written quite a bit about the son Jim Buss and the Lakers ownership/management situation over the past 2 years. Mostly on Hoopshype.

A credible source.

Lakers will regret trading Pau.  Although I'm certain Pau is ready to be shed of the whole LA and Kobe mess.

LA fans are in such a panick...its so funny to read their comments... They know Kobe is getting older , and they want him there to win championships , but he also ties up the team with his ego and antics to (like running DH12 off) .  If he takes 40 shots and they win he is hero, when they lose on his ballhog nights they are itching to see him go. LoL ...

Should have traded Kobe off for D12 .  Then traded Pau and Bynum for first class young rising stars.
