With the team playing better the chances of a big trade happening are less likely. If Danny lets the season run its coarse (with the exception on JO being released or traded M Daniels style) whats next for the celtics?

Lets assume that D Howard and D Williams don't become a Celtics.

What does Danny do with a weak FA group, a good chunk of FA cash (roughly 25 mill) and a lot of open roster spots?

The big questions will be..

What will KG and Ray resign for?

How healthy will J Green be? What will he want as a FA?

Do we bring back Bass or does JJJ take his role?

Do we do one year contracts for older players to fill the roster?

Do we gather young unproven players to try to find pieces to build off of?

If nothing happens then so be it.  We should know we are not getting Howard or Deron, thats for starters.  We need to move on from them.  I think this year we need to keep the team intact and add a player through a trade or something without impacting the core players.  Keepers IMO:

Rondo
Ray
PP
Bass
KG
Wilcox
Bradley
JJJ
Pietrus

This year:

I say dump Dooling (hate him) Daniels, JO, Stiesma and see if we can bait someone with Moore like an add into a trade. We need a backup center and a Beasley, Josh Smith, Lamar Odom added.

Next year:

Resign KG and Ray and vet salary.  Have them come off the bench.
Make good draft choices (Davis, Rivers)
Sign Jeff Green if healthy
Sign a Center (not Howard)

I say would figure the following

KG and Ray both resign for 1 year 5 mill
available cap now down to 15 mill

J Green signs for 2-3 year 6mill
available cap down to 9 mill

now the question is

do the Cs use bird rights to go over the cap and resign wilcox, bass, and pietrus to 1 year deals

or

use the 9 mill on another FA? Maybe Omer Asik for 3 year 6 mill then offer pietrus 2 year 3 mill?

We have to have a good draft, find one player who can be a starter in 1-2 years and find two guys who at least are young role players.

2013

PF KG,JJJ
SF Pierce,J Green (Rookie)
SG Ray, Pietrus, (Rookie)
PG Rondo,Avery

  • Rondo = Good

I'm hoping the answer is that he'll trade Pierce to a contender, re-sign Green and possibly Pietrus, Wilcox, and Bass, draft well, and then fill out the rest of the roster with young projects (e.g. Mahinmi, Beasley, etc).

Let the rebuilding begin.

I'm really hoping that this group can manage to be kept together for this season.  I want to see what they can do come playoff time.

This team, contrary to popular belief, is set up fairly well for the future.  We've got the best young passer in the league on a great contract, some other decent young pieces, two first round draft choices coming up, and plenty of cap space.  Just because we have the cap space doesn't mean that it has to be spent wantonly this off-season.
DKC Seventy-Sixers:

PG: G. Hill/D. Schroder
SG: C. Lee/B. Hield/T. Luwawu
SF:  Giannis/J. Lamb/M. Kuzminskas
PF:  E. Ilyasova/J. Jerebko/R. Christmas
C:    N. Vucevic/K. Olynyk/E. Davis/C. Jefferson

Probably sign KG, Ray, and Green to one-year extensions and we'll go through this again

I watch the Celtics with adoration and love until we are eliminated from the 2102 NBA Playoffs, something I have done since the end of the Bill Russell Era. I would rather the Celtics keep winning and the trade talk be pushed to the Back Burner where it belongs.
The beatings will continue until morale improves

Maybe we could get Orton and Hibbert, Orton being a center to build around Rondo with, to get him to know the system as we'll need 5 when JJJ becomes KG 2.0 aaaand Hibbert for The One Last Run Vol. 5.

I been saying all along the Celtics will not make a major move. Maybe make a minor move like adding a backup Center. But the big 4 will stay.
C/PF-Horford, Baynes, Noel, Theis, Morris,
SF/SG- Tatum, Brown, Hayward, Smart, Semi, Clark
PG- Irving, Rozier, Larkin

I think Danny would be a hypocrite if he doesn't trade one of the big three!  He's the one who claims he told Red he needed to trade the original big three. For this reason alone I think one or two of the following will be dealt at the deadline.... PP KG or RA! He could possibly move Rondo,  I don't think he will,  there is more of a chance that would blow up in his face and Rajons contract is so friendly!
L.A. Clippers
Derrick Rose Blake Griffin 4.11 5.3 5.15 6.11 7.15 8.11 9.15 10.11 11.15 12.11 13.15

pet peeve of mine Beasley is not 6'10

he is 6'8

another point, if we bring everyone back then we can go over the salary cap to resign everyone. I believe this is also true of any player we trade for. With this being said Danny should target some the the higher potential/under achieving young players out there with JO's contract and maybe the Clippers pick (only if it really worth it).
