we may be dead meat for the 76's ...almost out of energy tonight,  will there be anything left in the tank at all?   ???

Jrue Holiday is a top point guard, that almost guarantees a big night from Rondo at least.

Rondo basically walked around the court all game tonight, im sure he will have the energy

Holiday hopes to be a top point guard some day, he isn't right now.

So he botched the layup. Pierce shouldn't have been passing him the ball regardless.

You can't blame Paul on that play... Rondo was streaming into space and calling for the ball....he could have dribbled and ran down some clock at least...just a bonehead play

Rondo's missed layup is just like the ole Garden floor. A dead spot on the floor didn't let the ball bounce up high enough to grab it and he couldn't control it to hit the layup.

Which is more forgivable?

Rondo missing that lay in?

Ray missing a wide open 15 footer from the FT line even though he hits FTs at 90% for his career?

KG missing 2 FTs late to seal the game even though he's hitting FTs at 89% for the year?

Pierce so into keeping the ball and getting fouled he causes an 8 second violation even though I haven't seen that called in a pro game in 5 years?

Yea there was mistakes down the stretch but they happen, all that matters is we found a way to win and grinded it out. No complaints here lets keep this streak going...tomorrow will be tough but not impossible to take.

I am imagine Rondo has a big game the vets wont have lively legs well need him to be big.

Five in a row, Baby!!

On to PHI and 4th place in the East, hopefully.

PHI won't be easy.

I'm glad that Rondo got that miss out of his system. Now he can go on to having a stellar performance tomorrow night.

We're going to need it.

Rondo will be a man on his mission tomorrow night. He seemed angry and fueled after mishandling the ball leading to the blown lay up. First place by the end of tomorrow night hopefully  ;D

In order:

Ray's miss is the most forgivable, because his shot was off balance and a little rushed due to time.

Rondo's missed layup is next, as it was just an unlucky play caused by him fumbling the ball a little bit. It should have never even gotten to that point, as Pierce should not have ever passed him the ball. Rondo is not exactly the guy you want to have the ball when the other team has to foul. Even worse, a fast break is the opposite of what we were looking for on that play. Just an awful play all around, and Rondo's part in it was pretty excusable.

KG's missed FTs were pretty darn sad. I can't believe he missed those in that situation.

It was Pierce's play that was the worst, though. I can't even comprehend what he was trying to do on that play. He could have almost literally done anything but what he did on that play and it would have been an acceptable decision. Instead, he ignored the 4 other Celtics on the court and the available timeouts, fell over and threw the ball in the air. Just awful.

You can at the very least partially blame Pierce on that play. Rondo can't shoot FTs, and was across the court. If Pierce just holds onto the ball and lets the Rockets foul him like they had to in that situation, the Celtics win in regulation.

A bunch of mess is what I see... you guys are joking right???

Rondo's missed layup is obviously the worse!!! KG missing FTs was not good but at least he wasn't A FOOT FROM THE BASKET with no one around him!!! Ray couldn't hit a fall away, that happens,  come on, he was off most of the game but still hit other key shots! The PP 8sec vio... well that wasn't good but WHERE WAS RONDO (or any of the 4 other guys) giving help??? When you see someone is being pressured and having trouble, you COME get the ball!!! Rondo had no one even close to him, he fumbled the ball all on his own (trying to get it up fast so he wouldn't get fouled)... somehow some of you are saying that's partially PP's fault, GET OUT OF HERE!!! That was an easy two points more sure than PP holding the ball to get fouled (leaving time on the clock and could have missed fts with time stopped)!!! You can't say something to critique Rondo around here w/o people coming at you saying you're a hater or that it isn't Rondo's fault... it's always the old guys fault, always! OK King Rondo, that miss was the fault of the wind...
It takes me 3hrs to get to Miami and 1hr to get to Orlando... but I *SPIT* on their NBA teams! "Bless God and bless the (Celts)"-Lady GaGa (she said gays but she really meant Celts)

Everybody is saying it was a bad miss. It is not because Rondo can't make a layup, he just never had control of the ball, and should have dribbled to the corner and taken his chances at the FT line. You can be pretty sure that Rondo took the blame for it, too.

Some people are saying, that it was an unnecessary pass, and it was. Houston would have had to foul Pierce, and it would probably have been game over. So it is two mistakes at the price of one. Obviously Rondo's mistake is bigger.

Plenty of mistakes to go around but we won.   I think the fact that we struggled to win is telling.

The fact that we struggled to win is telling, but we could have easily dusted them. I thought we were clearly the better team (not always the team that was playing better though).
