Either option would be a perfect match... Ariza rebounds and a very high rate for his position, and Jack is an upgrade over dooling.

Link?

Surprised to hear they want to move Jack. Ariza makes sense, he's a long term contract, and not earning it at the moment.

sure... send a 1st for Ariza.  SIgn Odom after he's bought out.  Trade Rondo for Gasol.  Lets just become the 2008 Lakers and Celtics best-of mix.

I'd be Jacked to get Jack, but unfortunately I think a first rounder is too expensive....

the clip's pick (top 24 protected) for Jack, sure.  Ariza, no.  kind of duplicative of Pietrus.

Depends on a couple of things.

If we patch the hole in the middle first and become possible contenders.

Then, the current incumbents in a possible Jack combo guard off the bench position are Bradley and Dooling.  How do we feel about Bradley vs. Jack?  Not worth it right now, IMO.  I'd stick with Bradley.

Ariza doesn't add anything at this point.  I'd still go with Pietrus.  And for deep bench wings/SF's, I'm okay with Sasha and Quisy, so no need for Ariza at all.  Could he be the starting 2 guard going forward?  I hope not.

I would say no, but the Celtics don't typically draft good players/play the good players they draft, so trading a pick for Ariza would be like trading nothing for something.

Can't we just bring Gerald Green back?

I agree with this. Jack is nice, but at the moment I prefer Bradley over him on our team, and keeping our picks. Ariza is useless to us, Pietrus is much better, and Quisy and Sasha are decent. No need to hurt future cap space and lose a 1st for a guy who brings nothing to the table that we need.

the celtics draft much better than almost every other team in the league, and are usually patient enough to develop those players

Don't think we really need either players.

How about Kaman?  You think we can get him for JO's expiring and a couple of 2nd rounders or something?  Or is that too little to offer?
They will probably release him anyways, so, why not get some low draft picks?  We desperately need a centre with some experience/skill?

I think our first priority needs to be a big, at the very least a guy who can play some four in an undersized lineup (Beasley, Gerald Wallace)
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

I love Ariza!!! 100% yes!!!!
Once you are labeled 'the best' you want to stay up there, and you can't do it by loafing around.

Woah, I'd love Gerald Wallace, what would we have to give up to get him?

Link?  What is this based on?  Jack has been very good this season, I can't see them giving him away for a late first rounder.

Portland seems to be in fire sale mode and ready to feature Batum (who plays the same position). He's going to opt out after this year and I'd be surprised if we didn't at least look into him.
