Hopefully Portland isn't interested in him.

"@AlexKennedyNBA: The Minnesota Timberwolves are making a strong push to acquire Jamal Crawford prior to the trade deadline, according to multiple sources."

I'm not sure that would make sense.  I don't see what role Beasley would have on the Blazers.  He overlaps a lot with Batum / Wallace.
I expect Wallace to be moved but I agree. Can't really see who Portland would want for Crawford from mn though.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

I'm not really sure how good of a fit he is on the team as currently constructed.  He would basically come here and be the backup PF now that Bass is starting, with Wilcox playing exclusively at center.

I'd actually like to see him start at PF with Bass moving back to the bench.

Im actually a fan of what Bass is doing as a starter... He produces from either spot whether it be off the bench or in the starting line up. Having Beasley as the back up four would not be a bad option at this point if JO cant return. Ive come around to the idea of Beasley fitting in nicely for this team.

I don't want to trade Ray, but of the big 4 he is the one that I think the C's could lose and still maintain their identity as a team. I think a package of Beasley, milicic, johnson and/or Anthony Randolph might be worth trading ray for. It would give the C's size, youth, scoring, and athleticism. Maybe there is a way to get this deal done without sending ray, but if he had to go to get these guys, I would not be opposed to it. Milicic could be the C's insurance policy at center just in case they can't get Kaman via buyout. If everything works perfectly the C's would have the following lineup.

PG - rondo, Bradley
SG - Pierce, Johnson
SF - Beasley, Pietrius
PF - Garnett, Bass, Randolph
C - Kaman, milicic, Wilcox

I would think they could have interest in one of the two backup PGs (Ridnour or Barea), especially if they also trade away Felton.

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
Wallace has stated he wants to hit the open market to secure more money in a long term deal.
Something the Blazers won't agree to yet with either him or Batum.
They could be in need of Beasley very soon.

Doubt they take JO's contract for Beasley though.

Need a 7 ft warm body to play center , KG is going to get hurt playing out of postion.

I'm actually not sure if this is the case.  If anything, I think it's more likely that KG would get worn down more easily chasing after quicker, more offensively talented players rather than opposing centers who hang out underneath the rim.

The more I think about Michael Beasley the more I think Beasley brings a very similar offensive game (individually and team wise) to what we could have expected out of David West had he joined the C's.

Not exactly the same but similar. More questionable decision-making (shot selection, passing) but also more dynamic in the open court with Rondo and as a shot-creator.

I think Beasley would really flourish here (in a starter's role at PF alongside KG at C).

I like Beasley to be our second team's vocal leader, but the team you assembled would lose to Bobcats by triple digits. No heart, no leadership, no clutch, no experience.

Good point.  Just worry about KG.

I don't think he's going to be hurt, but Doc has been pretty good at limiting his minutes, so you need someone for when he's not on the floor.

What I think the Celtics need is someone who would be a defensive upgrade over Wilcox or Bass in the frontcourt when playing against a team like the Lakers or Bulls.  Does Beasley provide that?

I really do think Beasley is sort of like a less intelligent Antoine Walker, better shooting but more in love with long twos and not as good of a passer or rebounder.

I see Beasley developing into what Lamar Odom has become but more of a scorer than passer. A perennial 6th man of the year candidate on a contender who can slide between both forward positions.

He is an elite rebounder if his coach can get him to stop jacking jumpshots and is very crafty around around the basket. He just needs a role to focus on and some veterans to to show him how to be a professional.

Michael Beasley sucks and needs 15 shots a game to prove his stats.  Bass could be the same player o the twolves.

The guy looks like he's stoned 24/7! Underachiever, no pride, doesn't care about basketball etc, etc! How does he fit into Celtic pride?
