I have a feeling Green will be here next year..maybe on a 1-2year deal..I just dont see teams throwing tons of money at a guy who missed a whole season and they dont know how he will perform.

he'll use next year as a Contract year IMO to prove his worth to the league...and I think the Celtics are in a real solid position to be the team he does that on.

I agree with this.  Although it largely depends on whether the C's use their cap space this summer.  I think he is going to sign a 1 or 2 year deal with some team for around the MLE, or perhaps more, and there is a chance the C's won't have that to give him, depending on what they do in free agency.

can we please at least try to be a little objective? yeah, if we could go back in time we all wouldve kept perk, but jeff green is a very solid starter and a potential running mate for rondo moving forward (and one that we can get for a fraction of what hes worth due to his surgery and his desire to stay in boston). just because rondo and green couldnt get on the same page in the short time they had together last year does NOT mean that jeff green is a veteran minimum guy... thats absolutely ridiculous

just had the same exact thought. i was under the impression that celtics fans were intelligent, but i see a lot on here that shows some real ignorance/bias/plain stupidity.

What not objective about understanding that a guy returning from a heart issue might not get a whole lot of money from teams worried about his health?

Smart teams worry about giving a lot of guaranteed money to a guy coming off a major injury.  I don't see them looking to throw a lot of money at a guy coming off a heart problem.

Lets be honest, Celtics have already had to go through the sadness of a heart problem and a player.  Then, the double penalty of his money still counting against the cap.

Dumb teams are the ones that go out and offer such a player big money for multiple years.  Sometimes they get lucky.  Most times, it ends up like Vin Baker in Boston.

I think this largely comes down to insurance.  If no one will insure Green, in case his heart gives out, then teams could be hesitant to give him anything longterm.  If they can get it insured, then I think it will be less of an issue...but I expect them to really struggle to find that insurance until Green has shown his heart can handle it.

my comment had to do with the topic and what posts were made on the topic, I felt more than a few posts were rather bad but went out of my way to not  point out anyone in particular, yet had someone directly question/insult me i see that comment is still there ?

Hes with the team again tonight. saw him during a timeout. He must be coming back next year. Cant see why he would be spending so much time with the team while being an UFA.

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.
