I am sorry, you didnt get the memo, Pierce bogged us down all fourth quarter and only Rondo's basketball IQ and managing of the team got us back on track.

But seriously, could have done better on the shot with 30 seconds left (not time for a heat check) but boy did he work his mismatches late in the 4th and that final 3 was a tough clutch shot. Gotta to love the captain

His points were HUGE at the end... all 7 of them!!! What's going a little unnoticed... he shut Melo DOWN in OT!!! PP really did what was needed when it mattered on BOTH ends!!! Ty Cap!!!!
It takes me 3hrs to get to Miami and 1hr to get to Orlando... but I *SPIT* on their NBA teams! "Bless God and bless the (Celts)"-Lady GaGa (she said gays but she really meant Celts)

All hail Lord Rondo. Although he was nowhere to be found finals minutes of the 4th.  Forget Pierce heroics 7points final 90seconds. All glory goes to Rondo statpadding.

  • Rondo = Good
The last shot was great, but it was a bailout, an it wasn't a good shot.

The Pierce iso nearly sank us before it got us to overtime.

Well, it was the best shot we had with 5 seconds on the clock -- what are you going to do?

Oh, I don't know, run any of a number of plays Doc has ever drawn up to create an open shot . . . one that doesn't involve Pierce predictably hoisting a shot over 3 defenders at the 3 pt line?

The only reason that play was even necessary to force OT is that the team got totally bogged down in the 4th quarter, with almost no ball movement whatsoever.

Both Rondo and Pierce had some incredibly frustrating moments near the end (missed layups, bad shots), but their contributions outweighed them and we got the win. Who cares who was the MVP of this game.

Oh you mean when Rondo was 0-6 with 4 missed layups off of great ball movement/smart passes off of mismatches, and KG missed a couple quality looks for him. The ball movement was not bad, in fact Hubie pointed out after a miss, just how good the ball movement was and that you have to take those shots.

Thing I don't get, maybe it is just age, is why PP would settle for that shot on an iso. He put himself into that place on the floor with 4 down on the baseline, he could have done better with it.

But he made up for it and D'ed up melo after that which isnt an easy assignment

  • You say when......
PP is without a doubt the CAPTAIN here, and rightly so.....besides, it makes him tick, and he earned it a long time ago...( i hate those who are crowned but didn't earn it)...today was evident of why he is our man...BUT, he still needs to adjust...instead of those IOS's, incorporate the fake ISO..see, everyone in the league knows the iso...so use it now to our advantage...get someone to roll, or something ( doc, draw it up ).....you know what i mean..Hey Larry Bird loved it when you doubled him, he would do the genuis thing..pass to the OPEN guy..it is after all only 5 on 5..! TP for PP today though...!

Rondo does something that's never been done in nba history, Paul scores 30+ points and hits a huge three, and half the board is trying to rip apart the game one of them had to support the other. Sad.

It really is amazing to see...Celtics fans ARE allowed to like both Pierce and Rondo.
