Wow, there's no way we can trade him now. No **** way. If he was on the trade block before, it's now time to remove him from that block.

This guy played his game to perfection today. This is rondo when he's at his best. Doing the things that he does best to the best of his ability, not trying to do too much, or make too many fancy plays that only serve to needlessly raise the level of risk in the team's offensive execution, leading to a ton of turnovers.

We should stick with rondo and build around him for the future. There is serious potential there. Rondo, when he plays his game and doesn't try to introduce a lot of new elements into it that are disruptive for both him and the team's offense, Rondo might very well be THE best point guard in the league. I hope he learns to stick with what he's best at. Also, it's clear at this point. Bass should be in this starting lineup. We are so much better with the guy in there. KG, whether he likes it or not, might serve us better at the center position.

When Rondo is at his best, he is incredible.
And when he's at his worst he's horrible

And when he plays in the middle, he is average.

Ironically theses are the types of games Danny Ainge would trade a player for, so he can auction them to another team. Like a dangling "See how good this player is" type of scheme
like someone else said, buy low sell high

if danny ever intended to trade rondo, this game meant NOTHING to him. He is a GM with no emotions whatsoever tied to this. Rondo had a good game? good, buy low, SELL HIGH. thats how a GM thinks.

could not agree more... 4 triple doubles on the year, 2 this week??? thats unbelievable
It's quite believable. Rondo is stat-padding when he gets close to a triple-double. The freelancing for the 10th rebound today was especially appalling, he gave up a wide open three pointer to Baron Davis in a close game.

Great game and all, but don't tell me the team was the first thing on his mind...

if danny intended to trade rondo, this game makes it more likely he will trade because of "buy low, sell high"

And his 20 assist evidence what exactly? That he passed the ball? That and putting the team ahead of any personal agenda are not one and the same thing.

I was relieved when he got his 10th rebound, frankly, because it meant he'll stop hurting the defense by leaving his man open to lurk in the paint.

I hope those short-sighted amnesiacs who were calling for Rondo to ship out of town are feeling at least a smidgen of shame tonight.

Danny Ainge wouldn't trade that for anything short of Chris Paul or maybe Derek Rose (and I'd probably contest that too)...

That was a lot of fun...

  • Rondo doesn't believe in easy buckets...
Yes it is.

I don't want him on some other team doing this to us.

My wanting to trade Rondo phase has passed.

  • Rondo = Good
Today's game is why you trade Doc Rivers. Small Ball killed the Celtics. 11 of 15 Knicks offensive rebounds came when Doc made the switch.

This bench needs Ray Allen badly. They single-handedly almost gave the game away. Doc put Ray Allen on the bench. or Danny Ainge bring us Michael Beasley. Either way the bench needed a scorer.

If Doc Rivers is to blame for the team reverting to the Pierce iso offense for the entire 4th quarter, then yeah, this game didn't speak well for him.

WTH are you talking about? Pierce saved Celtics today. He went toe-to-toe with Melo. Rondo will get a lot of props because of his stat line, but he missed gazillion layups in the 4th

Pierce KILLED the Celtics in the 4th quarter today.  He and the team got bailed out by that desperation 3, which was a bad shot that happened to go in.

The Celtics finally got back to actually playing like a team in overtime and they had a solid lead going into the last minute.
Never forget the Champs of '08, or the gutsy warriors of '10.

KG was pretty good today as well. Two weeks ago some people on this board actually wanted to waive KG, how do you spell knee jerk again?

I'm not sure if we were watching the same game. Pierce had one of his best games this year. 7 huge points final 90seconds.

18 pts 20 assists 17 boards...and only 4 TOs.  Fourth triple double of the season.  The only other player to ever have 15+ / 15+ /15+ triple double in the history of the NBA is Jason Kid (x2).
I have no idea where you got this from, but it is absolutely not factual at all.  Heck Wilt once went for 20 or more in all three categories in the 68 season with 22 points, 25 rebounds, and 21 assists (and had 15+ multiple times).

Oscar did it multiple times in his career as well.  I mean the man averaged 30.8 points, 12.5 rebounds, and 11.4 assists in 61-62.
