Poll: How much is a package of mid- to late- first round picks worth?

Imagine that the Boston Celtics have the 18th and 25th overall picks in the 2012 NBA draft.  The day before the draft, the team is offered a higher single draft pick in exchange for those two picks, but you have to decide right then or else no deal.  What is the worst draft pick that you would accept in such a deal?  If you say that you would want to wait until you see what is available, that means you don't accept the deal.

Id rather keep the two picks and package them for with another player for an already established 2 or 3 year guy...doesnt have to be an all star or a stud.. but nothing in this draft is going to help us contend next year or entice free agents to come so i use it as trade bait.

I think its just about impossible to gauge their value. Everyteam has different needs, and depending on who wants what, I don't think there is an empirical formula you can use here.

I like to think they'd be worth about a 10th rounder, but depending on how the draft is shaping up, and where people have players 'tiering' out, and the needs of the team holding the higher pick, it might be worth more, less, who knows?

So, if someone offered you the 5th pick overall, you'd turn them down?

If you want to trade the picks, then think of the question as what higher pick you would package them for because you think that higher pick has more trade value.

Top-10 in this draft is a steal. 5th? Its a felony. You're talking Harrison Barnes territory, high impact guy, possible cornerstone.

I think the reality is the picks are more likely the 15/16th and 23rd/24th. 

In a draft this deep with good talent, I'm looking at 8th and higher if I'm giving up those two.  based on the picks you've proposed, I'd go with a the 10th or better.

TBH, I think they'll do better keeping the picks to get more young talent or package one pick and a young player to move up.

If we trade Either Ray/Pierce/Bass etc. I think we will definitely be in the lottery. Still think it would be a good move for us for the future, just makes us worse this year.

If they're serious about rebuilding, and they're not going to get any of Howard, or Williams, I think keeping the picks and trying to get lucky again is the best option.

As listed, I don't see any way we'd get higher than 14 with those picks.  We wouldn't sniff the top ten.

Not sure I'd try too hard to trade up.  I don't think we'd get into the top 10, and I'd rather have two bites at the apple than one any time after that.
