Okay, I'm just digging in on these myself.  This paper concludes Ray Allen is the second best shooter in the league--behind Steve Nash and ahead of Kobe Bryant.  (Dirk N. is fourth.)

Sorry it's just me here, but this paper suggests the most potent "Big 2" combo is a multi-faceted high-scoring wing and a productive post player (high scoring, rebounds and blocks).

Moving to the most potent "big 3" combo, you add a high-scoring, high assists, steals and turnovers PG who likely doesn't shoot a lot of 3s.

Interesting.
