The guy can rebound. Point blank period. We need this guy.
He'll be like Wilcox, only even worse at defending the paint and with a far shorter time to adjust to our rotations and defense.

Ugh, not excited though I do think he'd help.

I wouldn't trade a small order of onion rings for JJ Hickson

I'd love a small order of onion rings right now.

We have to add another big man.  No quesiton about it.  Plus we've got to get KG a little more rest.  Hickson is far more proven than most of the pieces we could get and the cost sounds minimal.  To me you make the trade and then cut Wilcox (buy him out)and JO also (if you don't trade one of them) to have at least one open spot for a buyout pickup.

he can definitely only make us better...one of the guys i hate going against, but would definitely welcome on my team..he's only a team away from being relevant again, i believe the celtics would be his perfect destination..kaman is old , jj can definitely keep pace with rondo and our up-tempo sets..sign him already danny!!!

he is still young, isn't going to look as good playing on a horrible team, when he was with cavs he looked good
put him on our team and I think he'd be a bonus, especially if we can get him on the cheap, more proven than jjj and a rebounder, we need rebounding

Exactly why I wouldn't part ways

I think it's a good fit, too. Like Beasley, I wouldn't be crazy about him on Charlotte or Sacto, but suddenly on a relevant team with veterans and a great coach, I'd bet we'd see some very nice numbers from him for the rest of the way.

What does this team have against centers who are actually centers? I'm really tired of trotting out an undersized lineup night after night and continuously getting beat on the glass. We need a 7 footer, we have enough power forwards.

Most teams will have 1 true Center and then a couple of guys who are C/PF types.  That's the league right now.  As far as the Celtics.  Our Center was JO and with him out, that's the problem.  We got Wilcox to be his backup and now with him out...

I usually trade for him in 2K12 so why not?!  ;D
Stay classy, San Diego. Hello, Baxter? Baxter, is that you? Bark twice if you're in Milwaukee. Is this Wilt Chamberlain? Have the decency to say something.

Maybe the fact that this team doesn't want to trade away it's big contract players and therefore has nothing to offer these 7 footers, who tend to ask for a fair bit of dosh.

For example if we traded away ray, do you think KG would love the idea? He's pretty much the only guy that's consistently held this team together chemistry-wise this year. Gotta keep him happy.

This board makes no sense. What would satisfy people?

If we could get Hickson for basically nothing (which I doubt) that'd be great. He's a year removed from being considered a cornerstone to the rebuilding effort in Cleveland.

He's young and athletic. If it doesn't work out, we're not giving up much. If it does, we've found a piece for the future. And he might even be an immediate upgrade. Worst case is that he's a low-cost big and we need one.

Going after guys like Hickson and McGee while we can get them cheap is smart. Our locker room is the type of environment where guys can learn to be professionals. A lot of role models and everyone's focused on winning.

How do we have people arguing that Steamer needs to be getting more minutes AND McGee is too dumb to contribute to our team?

I completely understand and agree. I just yhink we should get at least one true center before its all said and done. Kaman, McGee whoever. If we can also get Hickson, cool but a bunch of power forwards do not equal a center.

True. I definitely don't want to give up any of the big four, but I don't think acquiring McGee or Kaman would require that.
