Mr Cousy has set the bar about as high as it can go for a point guard.  So many people like to point out Rajon Rondo's faults but where is he in the list of all time great celtic point guards.  Quick list of the top of my head:
Bob Cousy
Sam Jones
JoJo White
Dennis Johnson
Sherman Douglas
Rajon Rondo

I'll let someone post up career numbers etc .  I can't help thinking of 6 years in the nba and the numbers rondo has put up with our team.  Each guy on the list above has some faults (cousy and jojo were pretty solid all the way around).  Feel free to add other guys to the list (no brian shaw allowed) but put aside the rondo hate and look at his career so far.
rank them!

I'd probably rank Tiny Archibald a little higher than Rondo if we would've had him a couple more years.

I cannot believe I forgot Tiny.  Funny Tiny in Kansas City had a reputation as not the best teammate and a bit of a me first player.  Great veteran pick up for us, nearly as important as Bird that first year.

Gary Payton and Kenny Anderson should be in there somewhere, right?

He is the 2nd best passer at PG we have had.  Cousy is 1.   Defensively I would place him 3rd behind DJ and Avery.   Shooting wise he is not top ten.  This is all time.

There is no way on Earth I put Rajon ahead of Dj

Hmmm

Cousy
DJ
Avery Bradley
Rajo Rondo.

Just a starting framework. Can I consider Delonte a pg? I can, right?

yep cousy's shot % wasn't super, as tommy would say assists were calculated different back then , who knows what his totals would be i.e. all time leader i'd guess

dj's jumper was suspect (til 4th quarter),  low post force as a pg, today's fan would hate his reach around poke defense   , I've only seen 2 guards use that well  ;)
best defending guard of the bunch (and we had him late in his career)

jojo really was a complete pg, not flashy and not great numbers but really good, that team could run, very good defender

rondo better rebounder than anyone listed, passing ability like cousy, outside shot worst of this bunch, fg % on par with better ones in this group, 2nd best defender

year 6
cedric maxwell has his number retired (8 years) mvp for playoffs, really good fg %, good defender...if we step back and look at rondo's numbers through 6 years hmmmmmm

I think I put Marcus Banks below him actually. Although he was awfully fast
