starts at 3:20 (btw remember when he had 82 assists in 1st 5 games? shaq was so underrated on our team, not even funny)

danny ainge: "there was a time when I sat with rajon and I said, "rajon, these are 10 characteristics of a leader and you dont fit any of these characteristics right now"

also
perk: "me and doc call kg and rondo the two divas on the team"

danny obviously talking about the past, but what if rondo brought his old behavior back? i doubt it, but you never know.

Then there was the Doc chestnut, "Do you realize your teammates hate playing with you?"

Attitude can be fixed. Can be talked about. His game is there even with these attitudes. It'll be very interesting to see the Celtics without Rondo. I hate it, i don't want him traded unless on certain deals that involve Lowry and Curry (not straight up) but I'd really rather have him here.

It's ridiculous for me that they are trading him just because of attitude alone. That can be fixed on team meetings and players meetings and pep talks. Rondo is a top 10 PG for me, maybe top 5 on certain arguments. It's not everyday you can land a PASS FIRST PG with good defense and a triple double threat (albeit no shooting).

Please do not trade Rondo, unless it's for the two I mentioned and a package for players that are valuable for us now and in the future.

Some attitudes can be fixed, so can't. Some players grow up, some don't.

When we won the chip, both Rondo and Perk were "after thoughts" within our starting lineup.

They were the two biggest question marks within our starting lineup.

They didn't mess things up and we won the chip.

Fast forward a couple years and Rondo is our main guy running the show.

I wouldn't mind going back to those days where Rondo was just one of the guys who the defenses didn't gameplan him for anything....passing, penetrating, & even defensively he was way more disruptive than he is now.

People can change to a degree; but by the same token you are who you are.  Rondo still shows lots of signs of immaturity.  The most recent examples:

He quit on the team after the Perkins trade.  In an interivew Doc slipped (or maybe it was on purpose) taking about how the team was not playing hard, and then he said something along the lines of "he" is not giving effort.  It was an obvious reference to Rondo.

We all know about the water bottle throwing incident during the playoffs when Rondo was upset for being criticized.  Not only that, he then started pointing out mistakes of other teammates (seriously???).

Getting suspended for throwing the ball at the ref.  I know he did this at least once earlier in the sesaon and got a warning.  After watching a TNT or ESPN game one of the announcers noted the league had record of 5 or 6 of these incidents his year.  How do you think the vets thought about him missing 2 games when they're fighting for a playoff spot?

So he's still the same old Rondo.  He was known to clash with players and coaches at UK.  And it's the same in BOS.  We can all debate on how good Rondo is relative to other PG's in this league; there's a lot of subjectivity there.  But you cannot deny Rondo has caused problems in the locker room.

The Gasol rumor was there before the ball incident, but it does seem to have ramped up a notch since then.

I think its coincidence though. Just b/c the deadline is approaching and Boston has clearly established themselves as a second or third tier team.

No, those rumors started before that incident.  They just picked up steam/resurfaced recently.

It's funny how many people on here are trying to deny the C's are looking to move Rondo.  2 years ago it was for Curry, last Dec it was for curry, last spring it was for Westbrook, last Dec it was for CP3.  Reporters write stories that suggest certain trades make sense, but these are just thing they thought up in their own heads.  But then there are other reports where they actually spoke to GM's or insiders about proposed trades or who is on the market.  And Rondo's rumors fit the latter.

To an extent, some teams still don't - remember the Laker game?

You said "albeit no shooting" like that is nothing. That it huge. His inability to shoot kills the offense. Teams don't guard him so the other 4 are playing against 5 which is never good odds. And he doesn't drive the lane consistently enough to make that irrelevant.

Rondo is a top 10 PG. But he isn't a guy you build your team around. He is more of a complimentary piece. Then when you add the attitude issues....boy.

Trade him Danny.

Personality is not easily changed. It is not likely that Rondo ever becomes a nice guy.

Yeah, those days never left.  It's just teams don't use it as consistently in the regular season.

Hence, why Rondo is overrated by Celt fans.  As much as he adds, he also takes away.
