TP for posting that.  This makes me root for this kid that much harder - seems like a great person.

Last year when Ray broke the record for threes, his teammates were all giving him hugs.  It stuck out to me when Bradley merely offered a handshake.  He really does seem like a shy kid who's only now starting to come out of his shell, and I'm glad that the team embraced him.  Also awesome to hear that he's paying it forward by embracing the rookies.

Great article - it's awesome to be able to get an inside look at what makes these guys tick.

If Bradley can develop a consistent 15-20 ft jumper and could average about 5 assists per 25 mins, the kid will be a stud and a potential Rondo replacement . He seriously shut down Westbrook when they played OKC,I know he scored 30+,but if you watched the game Bradley was making life hell for Westbrook, had like 3 steals off of him and rejected him at least once.

I really like this kids future, especially if he develops offensively!

i would love for him to get the 5+ assts, get that jumpshot down cold, and be better offensively overall.

but lets just say hypothetically he cant get it all together offensively. jumpshot is inconsistent and he struggles at times to run the point.

even if he can improve a little bit more all round, he can make a great rotation player (backup pg) and have a nice long career in the nba (similar to lindsey hunter when he was on detroit). theres nothing wrong with that either. still a success in my book.

heres hoping that at a minimum, he becomes a solid rotation player.

Yeah, I think people are getting ahead of themselves.  If he can get that jumper going, he can be a very good rotation player...but he has a long way to go from being even an average NBA starter.

Great article. The kid has all the athleticism in the world, but I had no idea he had this kind of head on his shoulders. After reading that article, is there any doubt that he's definitely a keeper?

Agreed. Does give me a lot of hope for his future. Mental fortitude is important.

If he could develop a consistent 120 ft jumper he'd be the GOAT.

Trouble is he doesn't remotely show any PG skills and is a undersized SG with a dicey shot.  Good defender but a fast guy with a good handle can beat him.  The jumper is key because he doesn't have PG instincts and would help him.  He is athletic and could be a smallish SG because he is very athletic but PG are often born not made.

such nonsense, PG's aren't born ,just like Authors or   Musicians aren't born great . It takes a lot of hard work ,dedication and practice to become good or great at anything . To say he is done developing is not true at all. No one is born into anything ....

Very weak point guard skills, and not a consistent scorer. No way around it. It's like he looses focus at the last moment. Would like to think it is something he can overcome with more confidence and more playing time, but the BBall IQ does not seem to be that strong.

I thought this post was about the article, and not critique Avery Bradley performance thread. Its saddens me to see people jumping at any chance to say something negative about this kid. Blessed are they who show mercy, for mercies will be upon them. Avery has been nothing short of wonderful. He came into a difficult circumstance for any rookie, and he made the most out of it and embraced the situation. So give the kid a break. Anyways, nice find TA9. I really enjoyed the article. And I wish Avery much success.

Keep dreaming bud 1.3  APG in  17 MPG.

Some people instinctively can pass better than others.  It is called "seeing the court" and other call it basketball IQ.  It can be developed to some degree but there are peeps who are naturally good at it and it shows.

Some people have timing with blocked shots.   You either have it or you don't to large degree.  So people can block shots and other guys occasionally block a shot.

Certain people don't have to work at stuff they have a gift or knack for it.   I don't know how long you have played ball or what level I am assuming maybe grade school from your comments.    Or how long you have watched it but Russ had a gift of timing and Potapenko did not for instance but both were 6-10 ish.
