I would love to see this if true.  He can flat-out score and would prevent us from going into 5 or 6 minute offensive droughts.

The Lakers, also in dire need of a legitimate scoring threat at small forward, have genuine interest in Michael Beasley, but it’s doubtful they’ll use the $8.9 million trade exception (from Lamar Odom being shipped to Dallas) to acquire him because of the increased luxury tax consequences stemming from the new Collective Bargaining Agreement. Timberwolves coach Rick Adelman recently committed to boosting Derrick Williams’ minutes, making Beasley extraneous. Minnesota is pushing hard to relocate his $6.2 million expiring contract and have the Nets and Celtics leaning.

People don't want Beasley like they don't want Blatche on here. However we don't have a lot of stuff that people want. We have to roll the dice on broken goods.

No thank you.

Don't want a guy that teams can't wait to move when they improve.

Beasley is more talented and motivated than Blatche is, imho.  This is the kind of low-risk/high-reward move that needs to be made.

I've always been a big Beasley fan.  He has incredible talent and just needs to mature.  I think he will end up having a better career than Derrick Williams.  Have him come off the bench for 22-25 minutes a night and he'll light it up against teams' second units.  We can then start Bass alongside Garnett and be done with JO.

I'd like to see Cleveland take a chance on Beasley as their new starting PF and dump Jamison.

Ugh no. Please, let us stay as far away from Beasley as possible.

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
I wonder if the C's are thinking of moving Rondo+JO for Gasol+their trade exception?
We then hitch Beasely or LA spends it for us and ships him? (Obviously there are other players/pieces if what I've said is even possible).
This is going to be an interesting few days.

What could we give them for Beasley?
A first round pick and Dooling as back up in case Barea is moved?

"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

i agree and Beasley is in the last year of his contract (unlike Blatche)

Beasley would fill the role that J Green was suppose to take this year. If things work out then we sign him to a contract this summer if not he walks and no harm done (as long as we don't use any long term assets to get him)

I'ma Beasley fan this could be a high risk high reward type move I remember early last season he averaged 23 ppg  before Kevin Love exploded on the scene I would love to see him here nd iont think we'd have to give up too much for him

Acquiring Pau and acquiring Beasley are somewhat contradictory.  You acquire Pau to compete now and for the next two seasons, meaning you keep the team's core, you pursue veterans (like Nash with the MLE), etc.

Acquiring Beasley (or Blatche) is a rebuilding move.  That's trying to pick up flawed talent on the cheap, hoping either for maturity or at least trying to acquire trade assets.  That's not really a move you make to win this season.

Acquiring Beasley kind of reminds me of trading for Ricky Buckets - another talented, immature guy who never seemed to fully *get it*.

I don't hate him as much as most but there's no one I would give up for him.  Bass eliminates any need for him whatsoever.
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale

Beasley is SUPER talented. A big strong lefty who can shoot it. These are exactly the types of guys we need to take chances with.

He isn't perfect, but I say go for it.

DH had tired of Beasley, hadn't he?  I take it Danny would take Beasley signed to an extension only if he were pretty certain he could move him.
