Offers his opinion on the most likely trade candidates. Below are the Celtic related ones.

Quote
Rajon Rondo: The Celtics are playing just bad enough that GM Danny Ainge will not have any problems breaking up his old gang. There’s not much to get for the likes of Kevin Garnett, but Rondo is the guy. Even since they traded Kendrick Perkins you get the sense he’s checked out mentally, if not with his play. More the feeling that the organization doesn’t have his back. There have been Rondo for Pau rumors and I thought they should have tried to trade him for Russell Westbrook. Portland’s got a bunch of young players and is going nowhere, so perhaps something there. His contract is reasonable for an All-Star and long, so he’s desirable. And the Celtics don’t want to be caught in that early 90’s fall without trading someone.

Chances of Rondo being traded: 60 percent.

Monta Ellis: The high scoring Warriors guard is always the man to go who doesn’t go. You’d think it’s about time. It’s ever more clear the backcourt won’t work with Stephen Curry and now in Klay Thomson they have a young guy to work in. Plus, new high profile ownership is anxious to make a splash and get some notice. Would they do something with Boston for Rondo? They have been seeking a big. Jefferson? Utah has needed a two guard since Hornacek.

Chances of Ellis being traded: 60 percent.

Thread title needs to be changed.

It's not even a rumor, it's Sam Smith making stuff up in his head.

[Edit: Thanks, Eddie. Much better.]

I'd love to see Rajon Rondo (PG) play with LaMarcus Aldridge (C).

I think Ellis is a perfect fit to play with Rondo I don't think trading him for rondo would really help us. Monta on this team  would be another one man fast break with no one to run with him.

Not sure what portland could trade us that we would want for Rondo. Anyone have any ideas for what a deal with them would look like, maybe batum matthews and a first but no way they do that.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

Monta is a very good scorer and would be the "closer" type player we seem to lack way too often in the 4Q. Plus, Howard did directly mention Ellis as a player he would like to play with.

How would a Monta Ellis and Avery Bradley starting backcourt do for us? Interesting.
The beatings will continue until morale improves

Sam Smith = Peter Vecsey with even less credibility

Now all we need is Peter May to weigh in.

Exactly , Sam Smith is the biggest hack in the business. He seriously just comes up with trades in his mind and puts them out there as rumors.

I really can't stand the guy and it annoys me that he probably makes 100k+ a year for just making up random garbage and puts it out there like there is some substance behind it .
