On Wednesday I'll be going to my first game since...the old garden.  A friend has gotten some club seats and invited me to go with him; I don't know which ones they are specifically.  I'll try to figure that out.

Because of rejection from a lung transplant, I wear oxygen (I carry a tank), and my mobility is pretty poor.  I can still walk (several hundred feet at a time, then I need a rest), and I can do a few stairs, but for the most part, I've got the athletic abilities of an 80 year old.

I'm looking for tips on how to navigate the garden so that I can minimize my walking, and more importantly, stairs and inclines.  Are there elevators?  Any place specific he should drop me off?  Any 'shortcuts' (and remember, I mean shortcuts in terms of length of walking, not time.  I'm fine with moseying along with a slow moving crowd)?  Or just any tips in general.

Also, anything other specific things a newbie should know...what the best food is, what to check out / look for, whatever.

Thanks.

I would get in contact with the people from the Garden (maybe contact someone from the Celtics directly).  They are very accomodating for various handicaps, but if they can know ahead of time, I am sure it makes it easier.  They can tell you exactly where to go, which elevators and entrance and all that.

There is an elevator on the North Station level that you can talk to the operator, show your tix and explain your "handicap" - they will take you right up to the club level.

Wouldn't hurt to call in advance either....
