At this point, I think We need to trade Rondo...

I know Rajon Rondo is capable of running a championship team to the end, and I am all for keeping him but I think we need to trade Rajon.  His stock is pretty high and I have an idea for his replacement. 

Trade Rondo, Jermaine to LA for Pau Gasol and Jason Kapono....something along those lines; maybe even Metta?  He may be too loco...

Another scenario is with the 76ers.  Rondo would improve them tremendously and Lou Williams or Jrue Holliday with Thaddeous Young, Spencer Hawes for Jermaine, Rondo, Jajuan and 1st or maybe even a 2nd rounder or no pick at all. 


Who knows whats gonna happen with this upcoming draft, in my opinion these draft picks are golden tickets into the second round so I wouldnt even mind Rondo for 2 1st round picks.

Some may think i'm crazy but I think if we do exchange Rondo for Gasol or 2 picks....I think we should sign Allen Iverson to distribute the ball.  His job would be to get the ball past half court get the ball to P2 or KG to run the offense and hit a jumper when open.  I think he could really really work here.

I think you are a little optimistic about the return Rondo can get, but I agree that we are at a crossroads, and I think we need to either trade Rondo or Pierce now, or this summer.

Those are our only core players moving forward, and they have reached a point where they are complete opposites, and I don't think they can effectively play with each other and maximize each of their talents.

And, I think Rondo can bring back a greater return, which would make him the more likely one to go.  But it all depends on what the return could actually be.

the problem is that a lot of teams can offer an exciting, talented, young point guard.

I'd argue that although Rondo is having a good season, his stock could potentially rise once the big 3 move on.

He won't have the hall of fame shooters to pass to, but he'll be responsible for carrying the teams scoring with Pierce or Green and his average should go up to something like 18 ppg with 8-10 assists if we get him some solid running mates to trot the floor.

I probably can't say no to trading him for Gasol at this point. Gasol will be great until he's 35. It would also probably give us a better shot at winning this year vs Chicago and the Heat because of his rebounding and his post up ability.
He'll probably be a more valuable trade asset with 2 more years on his contract after this season.

I'm sure that if Danny made a move for Gasol, he would have a plan in place to acquire a new starting point guard.  Even Steve Blake would be a better starter than Bradley.

Yep, if he can make shaq look like an all star instead of a retiree how can't any big in the nba see that and say wow, my game will be easier if I know the ball is coming to me

Don't believe Pau is going anywhere till DH and Orlando decide what they going to do first.  

Until this drama plays out , Pau stays a Laker.  

Still think Orlando rides it out and chances DH walking.  The owner is calling the shots on this one, Otis Smith is out of the picture.  When you got one foot in the grave,  this likey is his last chance at a banner with a super like DH.  Money doesn't matter.  He wants to go out a winner. He isn't concerned about 5 years form now.

I would have to say Rondo's value has greatly diminished this year.  It was at an all time high last year when the media credited him for being the best player on a top championship contender.  Obvioulsy we would have not traded him last year.  Now either Rondo hasn't carried the mantle, or the other guys got old (but weren't they already old last year too?).

Rondo is not highly regarded around the league.  There is no more obvious evidence than the fact that most teams do not guard him.  Now which coach would want to face the same dilemma the C's have on offense.  What do you do when you have an extra defender to roam against the rest of your 4 playes on offense?  Maye not as big of an issue if you have some great one on one players, but for the C's it's highly debilitating.

Mark me down as being part of the crowd that thinks this notion is fairly laughable.  I don't think Austin wants to play for his dad, and I don't think Doc wants the Celtics to draft his son.

I tend to agree with Pos here.  From my experience, at this point in life the coach and his son want to part ways at this level . Austin I'm sure want to succeed on his own . Maybe years and years latter they hook up . I see it as TOO much pressure for both of them .  Maybe I'll be proved wrong. But I wouldn't want to be on my dads NBA team as a rookie , under all the pressure that will be on both at Boston.

If you dump Rondo,  I think it has to be for deal to get a center /PWR Forward to replace KG.  Trading Rondo for D Will works , IF you can get him to sign and then bring in the new BIGS to keep him. If you can't get the addtlplayers to go with D Will, might as well keep Rondo.

Still think should have offered K,Love  part ownership in Boston franchise to come here.   its like watching the perfect Celtic play in the WRONG city all over ..as I watched KG all those years and told everyone he should have been a Celtic all along.
