no because you're trying to compete with New York and LA to prove to the players that you're just as good as those major markets. but then you can't even convince the NBA to give you an all star game in your city for 50 years. it's a disgrace.

What makes you think the Celtics are trying?

If you want I can dig up the quotes from Danny, Wyc, and Doc all talking about how they have to compete with LA and NY market size when recruiting players.

The All Star Game doesn't make the city's market any bigger.

I think I do recall Wyc talking about wanting to get the All Star game here in Boston.  I'm too lazy to find the link, but, it was in an interview he has last year I believe.

I think it would be pretty cool to have the event in Boston.

Edit: Here is the link, work is slow, and it was pretty easy to dig up.

i think it would be awesome. just because 1 person doesnt care about it and refuses to see the pros doesnt mean its true. having more exposure doesnt generate more income? then tell me why companies spend millions for advertising? sorry but thats an ignorant comment.

My guess is the Brooklyn Nets will get it, to showcase the new Barclays Center. The Nets have only hosted the ASG one time, in 1982.

The first two ASG's were played at the old Garden, then one in 1957 and then again in '64. It would be pretty cool if TD got it (for those of you interested - I respect that) but personally, I could give a hoot about that weekend of so-called entertainment anymore. It was fun in the early to mid 90's, but now? Well, not so much.
