Rondo + Garnett/Dooling expirings + JuJuan Johnson + $2m for Bogut, S. Jackson, Udrih + Jennings. Saves Bucks $20m next year. Who says no?
Um, the Celtics? I guess it's refreshing to see trade ideas that aren't slanted heavily in the Celtics favor, but this one seems horrible for us.
So basically we trade to become the Bucks?
Jennings and Bogut are nice and all, but Bogut has a ton of trouble staying healthy, and Jennings is a streaky gunner. Stephen Jackson seems to have fallen off a cliff in the last year or so. Not to mention our starting PF would be Brandon Bass.
Once again, we see that you just can't expect to reload on the fly. Building a contender takes time. Once your core is done, you have to start building again. These "magic bullet" trade ideas -- and this includes the Rondo for Gasol trade, to some extent -- are either impossible or wouldn't do enough to put this team back into contention. They're all just desperate attempts to stave off the reality of rebuilding.
